Whats the Name of the Charlie Brown Song?
I think it is a Chopin piece but I don't know the name - my goal for 2006 is to be able to play it on the piano - anybody have the sheet music?

Do you mean "Linus and Lucy"? PM me your email and I'll scan and send it to you.

CB Christmas... Vince Gueraldi rocked. This is a staple in my holiday listening rack. I have the CD in front of me...most of the Charlie Brown tunes were Gueraldi originals not Chopin.

Its the song that everyone knows is the Charlie Brown song - they play it during the CB Christmas as well as every Charlie Brown special. It has a rather syncupated (sp) bass line.

Maybe he's thinking of Fur Elise...which is the Beethoven piece that Schroeder always plays? Thats the closest thing to Chopin on the disk... the syncopated bassline thing is more Ramsey Lewis type boogie... that cartoon was a classic.

This year, the Christmas/Holiday/Kwanza/Chewbaca cards I sent out had wintery pics of the Peanuts gang.
I have the George Winston album: Linus and Lucy: The Music of Vince Guaraldi. Has all the piano music from the Peanuts specials. I also have the CD: "Happy Anniversary, Charlie Brown" in which a bunch of Jazz musicians got together and did a tribute. Linus and Lucy is one of the songs in that album - but in a well done jazzed up version. As a kid, Charlie Brown was my hero - you gotta admire a kid who'll get his clothes knocked off by a line drive ball, yet pick up his clothes, get back on the mound, and pitch the ball like nothing ever happened. Here's a guy that looks adversity and bad luck in the face and says, "So what. Is that all you got?" -Z-man.

I got the sheet music from Halm. My drum corp background has helped with the chops but my finger skills are way poor. I don't play piano but at one time I was a pretty good at the snare and quads.
I tried it last night and discovered just how out of tune my piano is and how stiff my fingers were. The brain knows what to do but the fingers move at 1/4 impulse speed. My goal for 2006 is to have it down!

the bass line is a variation of the notes e-a-b. e-a-e-a-b - actually it's a little harder to type than I thought. I used to play it on guitar - good times.
