And How Is This My Fault?

Kicking off the new year - I inadvertantly drove off with the cordless on the bumber last night. My wife puts it there somethimes when we are in the garage our playing outside with the kids. I didn't know it was there. Found it (after much searching) on the side of the road about a mile from the house.

Of course it was my fault for not seeing it on the rear bumber and driving off with it on only to meet it's fate on rt 407 / FM2499. And how is this my fault?

The kids think I can fix it - 'come on Dad, you always say you can fix anything from a broken heart to the crack of dawn!'

I think the only tool that can fix this is the checkbook! (but according to my wife, it is still my fault)

Every time you get in the car with your family, make a dramatic full-circle inspection of the cars bumpers and roof and declare loudly; "Let's see if mommy left anything on the car today! Front bumper? Check! Back bumper? Check! Roof? CHECK! We're good to go!"

I find persistant, annoying sarcasm will bring my wifes admission of responsibility around pretty quick.

8 wonderful years - ya, should have known. If I spent the time required to check every aspect of a potential failure opportunity my wife presents I would never get out of the house.

P.S., those are on sale at Fry's for like $25.

Say you fixed it, you'll be the god of repair to the kids.

Yes, it's your fault! You were driving the car, after all.

Okay, I'll go back to being me and say that it's best to play along. Just the stuff to put up with, but it's well worth it.

If my wife ever leaves me, I'm going with her!

8 years and you haven't realized that you're always at fault. That's part of your job, designated dumbass. She's never done anything wrong in her life, remember?

I know a good mediator...

Just buy one of these: http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/co_disp/displ/prrfnbr/900/sesent/00

And do as Moses says...preflight check. And be sure to shine it in her eyes to check for proper pupil dialation...wouldn't want to miss a possible stroke in progress.
