My two mistakes:

A bad haircut and not taking it easy.

I thought I did a good job on the shave, but it was like trying to shave an octopus...Nurse takes a look at my junk, says "Good job"...Dr. (man) comes in, looks at my junk, says it gotta be better. HE grabs my teabag and starts flinging one of those $hitty plastic disposible razors around. Oh Fuch...I literally broke out in a sweat I have never experienced in my sickest day.

So I make it thru...they don't even kick down w/ the vitamin V...next day take the loooong stroll thru Costco. Bad idea...get home to take a shower, get outta the jock and it feels like I dropped my balls on the floor and stepped on them!

HEED the advice...we have nothing to gain telling you...you have everything to lose! Good luck

Question:

My wife and I were just discussing this. The doctors office made a point of telling me to make sure my wife comes to the consultation.

Why?

If she decided to get her tubes tied no one would ask me or have a consultation with the 2 of us.

Their my balls why can't I do what I want with them. I find this consultation with the wife present to be annoying.

It's also a violation of your right to privacy as a patient. No middle ground on this issue, they are wrong.

My wife does not want to go she thinks its stupid she has to be there to tell the doc in person that I can have my vasectomy.

Maybe a note from my wife will suffice.

He is a PCA member and instructed me last year at a DE we really hit it off and he gave me his card. He has no idea I bought a Porsche in September, so when I arrive tomarrow for my consultation sans wife and with the SC I think he will be cool.

My 2 y/o i spretty sick and it is really going to be a PITA to have to drag him out or find a babysitter for this.

I am 40 years old and have 2 kids I am done having kids. I really do not think I need the wifes permission to do this.

Actually, I'll bet since you said you were married, it might be some perverted protection from a medical malpractice action. Her suing him for undoing your ability to father children. Or to make sure she doesn't want to put some swimmers on ice.

my florida dr asked me if I'd discussed with the wifey - I was like = doubt I'd be asking for this on a whim... He told me that he just likes to cover his bases - and he had been sued by a spouse...

The wife went in with me for permission as well - she asked if they could take some off the top as well. Still not sure what she meant by that.

The fun part is after a few weeks go by and you have to bring in samples to have a sperm count. We decided to mess with the nurses and produced several samples in a day in order to really fill up the cup. It was fun filling it for sure (two of seven I had to matters into my on hands). The look on the nurses face when I handed her the lidded cup was priceless but the comment the Mexican tech made was better "el Toro!"

Just got off the phone w/ the doctors office. It is fine that my wife does not attend the consultation. She has to sign a waiver when she drops me off for the procedure. I am still at a loss why SHE has to give permission for me to get a vasectomy?

I will discuss this further with the doc when I go today. I am not angry at him he is just covering his @ss. I am more curious how this is not my decision.

If my wife wanted an abortion and I was against it could she still get one? Then I would hear about how its her body and she can do what she wants with it.

Your doctors office is WRONG and they are not in compliance with the law. If they were reported, they would likely be subject to a very large fine for a HIPAA violation. Not sure how big a deal you want to make of it, though.
