Would you buy it if you had an extra million?

Need I say more?

I'd need two lives also. I know I'd kill myself on that thing.

There is no thing as an "extra" million. Your just poor at a higher level. Is this OT?

I would do the Jerry Seinfeld thing and get a couple bookend cars, say first and last RSR's or something along that line. That would be pretty cool!

The fun thing about auctions like this is that the seller often does not realize that the final value fee (FVF) on something like this will be over $75,000. So, it may be a nonsequeter auction but because bidders have bid it past $5M reserve (with no intent to pay I'm sure) the seller will be chaged the FVF. It is unlikely he'll have to pay, but much panic emailing will ensue after this is over.

As a condition of sale, the successful bidder will have to execute an agreement warranting that they will use the aircraft for static exhibition and educational purposes only.

What crap! All that money and the owner will not even be ably to fly the damn thing!

The original auction for the prototype aircraft was cancelled.
Quote:
We appreciate the tremendous interest in this item. However, significant information relevant to this item was omitted from the original listing. This item is nonoperational and as such is not warranted or represented to be capable of performing flight or other operations. Due to this omission and the resulting confusion, the auction will be restarted and we are releasing all existing bidders from their bids.
The new listing has the disclaimer:
Quote:
As a condition of sale, the successful bidder will have to execute an agreement warranting that they will use the aircraft for static exhibition and educational purposes only. The aircraft will be sold in its as-is, nonoperable condition.

For a better bang for your buck why not try Ford stock at $10.50@ with a $0.47 cents a share dividend that they havn't missed since Christ was a kid. Figure the Risk to Reward ratio October 2002 low was $6.90 a share (for about a minute and a half). 1990's high was @$60.00 a share..... Hmmm you allready have a built in 4+% return while you wait....

I'd like to buy a nice garage somewhere with a lift and a pit.

Then I would build one of those 550 Spyder kits, get a hold of a 4 cam Carrera motor, or a 906 motor.

I would also buy my dream 911

late 60's soft window Targa, all stock/w hubcaps, but with a 3.0 SC motor and 915 gearbox.

A little of this and that. But first, my wife gets to plan a vacation for just the two of us.

Then:

I second the garage idea and then a few 911 but none newer than 73. One would be all stock and boring. Not sure what year. Then a 72 coupe with a 3.0 lightning bolt for an engine.

Probably try and find a 73 RS in a field someplace and restore it.

Exclamation No Way!

What is that thing? Looks like two jet engines strapped to your back? Hah ha. I love the notes and disclaimers, what a joke thanks for the laugh.

I liked TT's Audi Race car though.

If I had an extra million?
More resort properties and another P-car.

What are all those baby boomers going to need anyway?
Depends? Hah ha

Cheers
Rob

Did you guys catch the date when Tabs posted that comment? It was early 2003 - Since then California RE went up over 20%, Ford didn't do quite as well.
