HP48GX question
hey maybe you will know. my manual is packed up for an office move...
as you know i have two of them. the one at my house, i must have messed up a default setting. how do i get my calc to show 3.14...instead of the Pi sign? the one at my office cranks out the number. at home i have to purple arrow/number key.

You geek! LOL...
(I've got a 48S, but it's always shown the pi-sign call for it AFAI-recall...when I want the numeric valvue, I just type it in) |

Vash,
Use the search function! Here is a link to a manual! Joe A PS and this is coming from someone who grew up using a TI SR-10! ![]() http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/hpmuseum/archv007.cgi?read=15497

LOL!
and all this time I've been meaning to post about an HP12C problem. seems that somehow something went awry and now it wants to round up everything I enter to the nearest whole number. annoying as hell, I say. anyone know how to reset that? I don't have the manual either

I'm still using a 15 year old HP 32S -rpn.
I love that reverse polish notation. I also have a TI Voyage 200. You've gotta love a calc that can take the derivative and integrate.

Go check out the HP website, they have the manuals online. That's where I always go, the one in print with my 49G+ is tiny, and only covers maybe a tenth of it's abilities.

I still use the HP12C for financial and HP11C for scientific. I had a HP48G but gave it to my dad - too hard to remember how to use it, if you don't use it frequently. Used to have a HP25C, that was a nice little calculator. I grew up using slide rules (jr high and high school) then TI calculators. Always wanted HPs but couldn't afford them when I was a kid. Love RPN.

Just because you have to try harder to use your calculator doesn't make you cool. That goes for all you Linux users out there too!

Love my HP11C. 20 years old and still kickin. I find it much easier to use than a regular calculator.

Thanks, I never bothered figuring it out. I just finish entering the problem and then hit the "num" button. I assume this fix sets it so PI is always shown as a number rather than PI.
