It turns out the Senior Intel Director that was caught leaking classified info
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12423825/
was a democrat appointed by Sandy Bergler in the Clinton administration.. Big surprise, huh?

Not a traitor.

No documentation in the new stories on when she joined the CIA.

Your comment "Big surprise" is no surprise.

The information allegedly leaked to Priest was about rumored secret CIA prisons in Eastern Europe. I thought we didn't have anything like that..

Has FOX news ran the story yet?

Uh no, What you know is a CIA officer leaked information on illegal and immoral activities.

I guess it goes to how you view "deepthroat", traitor or patriot.

Fint, looks like she joined in 1984:Reagan's watch, then as highly qualified agent she moved up the ranks, and got promoted under Bush 1.

Quite a stretch to bring in a Clinton issue. Sure you're not Nul in disguise?

Unless you have an inside source, that is only speculation. The CIA has not released any details about the classified info she was leaking....only that she failed a polygraph and admitted to leaking....of course CIA prisons in Europe is what liberals would have you believe.

That was taken right from the article on MSNBC

"The leak pertained to stories on the CIA's rumored secret prisons in Eastern Europe, sources told NBC. The information was allegedly provided to Dana Priest of the Washington Post, who wrote about CIA prisons in November and was awarded a PUlitzer Prize on Monday for her reporting."

Direct quote from the article you cited in your opening post. I would not expect the CIA to admit such places existed.

Yes, the article cited unnamed sources. Typical liberal ploy to make their "sources" seem like actual witnesses. LOL. Note what the real sources say:

"Citing the Privacy Act, the CIA would not provide any details about the officer’s identity or assignments"

Why do I feel the leftist mainstream is going to whitewash or totally ignore this story, as they did the connections story, the Saddam tapes, and Sandy Bergler's heist that defrauded the 9-11 investigation.

I won't hold my breath waiting for Tim Russert to ask Bill Clinton or Sandy Bergler the hard hitting questions.

Intelligence leak damage is bad enough during peace. The damage rises exponentially during war time imo.

To me, this is wrong behavior for someone handling classified material. Whether they're the President, VP, VP chief of staff, Sandy Berger's skivvies, or the many political appointees or civil servants handling classidfied, it's a major security violation.

But we don't have secret prisons, right? Maybe she made up this stuff, and, since it didn't actually exist, it must not have been classified material. LOL! Who knows. I think there is a way to legally serve as a whistleblower of illegal, classified, activity on the part of our gov't without violating the law. Maybe something to chat about with our security folks...

Jim,

Not sure if you have had a security clearance or not but anytime you get a clearance, or re-qual for your clearance (they have to be re-qualified every so often, depending on the level) you sign that you have not and will not disclose anything classified.

Could care less if we have a secret prison or not, this person was caught giving classified materials to a person who did not have clearance nor need for such materials. Treason, sedition or whichever way they go after her, it needs to be done.

Agree with your comments on it does not matter who it is, unless they are in a position to "un-classify" the material, they have to safeguard it.

Here's a test for you guys.

Suppose the CIA had secret death camps where they were torturing and executing innocent civilians. A CIA official leaks this information. Reaction?
