I'm looking for some good sunglasses myself now. I'm thinking old school stuff. Ray Ban Wayfarer, Vuarnet Cateye, or if I could find a pair, the Porsche Designs with the interchangeable lenses. I had all of these back in the day, but they've all disappeared.

But my current pair of Maui Jims are my favorite. They are also the only US owned manufacturer of high end sunglasses. Most of the above mentioned brands are owned by a company called Luxottica.

+1 on the Maui Jims. Have gone thru a couple pairs of their "South Shore's" over the years. Also have a couple pairs of Serengetis with their Strata lens (Polarized, photochromic, etc.). I agree with Don regarding quality lenses, especially living in AZ! Maui's and Serengeti's (glass lenses) are the best quality optics for my $$$. Also, I'd consider Serengeti to be US owned, since they are now part of the Bushnell empire. :)

If thinking old school, go with a set of vintage Persol's.

You can still get Ray Ban Wayfarers, as I just got a new pair not long ago and for the right offer, I might part with one of my pairs of Porsche Designs with the interchangeable lenses:cool:

What would the right offer be Byron? If he isn't interested I might be....
