Watch out for low flying birds!
I guess airplanes are not the only victims of birdstrikes! Knocked the insert right out of my grille. Dove at 75mph!

Too big to fail

I clipped a quail a while back with my VW bus @ approx 30mph. Natural selection really works!

My boss from about 20 years back hit a goose with his Ford Taurus while going 65-70 mph. He really tore up the "grill"/front of the car.

I came around a corner one day on one of my Harleys at about 70 mph. Caught a crow with my right knee as he was scrambling to take off from peeling a dead squirrel off the road. That smarts.

Almost got a wild turkey on my hood one day... unfortunately, my little wimpy mazda pickup couldn't accelerate quite fast enough to catch him...

Simple suicide. Some birds figure it better than getting shot or eaten alive by a predator.
Or maybe his woman just left him for a fancier male. Who knows.
