I didn't realize B-25's had a Targa option, Thom. Probably makes this one exceptionally valuable. You should probably finish the Ghia first, though.

for wide body and his conspiracy buffs. heres some food for thought next time you want to wise off to someone that had to deal with 9/11 in our face and still has to deal with it everyday and night we are on airport property. since you are so far removed from the aviation world this should open your eyes to what just a small jet served private airport gets to deal with on a daily basis. the reason we are in the middle(to explain again) is the 9/11 pilots again literally trained over our heads and to the east of us, using close proximity airports to the direct south and sw of us. telling people we are equal to the terrorists on 9/11 for our efforts then and today and in the future, just didnt sit well with us at all.maybe when you get your pilots lic. youll be able to fathom how much civilian aviation was changed on 9/11 let alone commercial aviation forever! once again, widebody your cracks regarding our experience on 9/11 didnt sit well AT ALL with us, let alone your idiotic conspiracy crap that it didnt happen. alot of people died on 9/11 and are still dying today and in the future, protecting your right to free speech. your attitude that we are a bunch of hillbillys with guns, jes didnt go down our craw like you thought it wood!

Saving and repairing old planes is nifty. If I had the skills to help, I would.

I helped dismantle an old Lancaster bomber that was sitting on a pedistal by Lake Ontario in 99. When you climb inside these things it is so surreal. You can't imagine what these guys went through and I will forever be grateful.

This old gal will be restored and hopefully will fly again. What is missing or damaged will be handmade by someone and eventually it will fly again. Just not enough of the old WW2 birds around so they are getting very expensive.
One problem is that in many cases when someone finds an old WW2 bird, the govt tries to step in and reclaim it. The US Navy is the worst. If someone finds a plane that went in the water and raises it to the surface then starts to restore it, they step in and say that they never signed the paperwork over to it and they want it back. Recently at least one person took them to court and won the case, so saving some of these old birds may start happening again.

The Navy did that to a bunch of guys that rescued an F4U Corsair from the bottom of Lake Washington. It went in on take-off during a training flight from Sand Point. It was actually quite well preserved, since it was so deep in fresh water. The Navy stood by all the while they put together their financing and operation to raise the airplane and never said a word. Once they had it out of the water, the Navy said "thank you very much; that's our airplane" and simple took it. It now sits fully restored in the Museum of Flight in Seattle. I'm not sure these guys ever got a dime reimbursed for their efforts. Pretty airplane, though.
