Malibu Ferrari crash du jour. This time, 2 died.

Not many details yet, but it looks like a Ferrari went off Cornell road today, killing both occupants.

Cornell is actually a fairly unchallenging connector from Kanan to Mulholland. Technically, It's Agoura Hills, but most everybody out there claims to be in Malibu.

Ferrari And Mustang Crash In Agoura Hills, 2 Dead

(CBS) AGOURA HILLS, Calif. Two people died in a traffic collision apparently involving a Ferrari and a silver Ford Mustang near Mulholland Drive near Agoura Hills Tuesday, authorities said.

The collision occurred at 3434 Cornell Road at 3:21 p.m., according to Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol officials.

Gary Lineberry in Chopper 2 said the Mustang flipped over after the collision.

It was not clear if the two people killed were passengers or drivers.

Last week, up here in Orygun...a BMW M5 clocked at 146 or so...on I-84. ALL the network affiliates reporting that this was a "record"...the suzy shallow types all reporting this with serious expressions. Wanna bet there are some out there wanting to "beat" that state "record"?

Even after the Enzo escapade? This is just too easy for some speedlimit happy politician + some revenue generating cop to take advantage of these "sports cars" out of control. You know... there is no reason to have a car that can go that fast on the road, because you're not supposed to be going that fast....."

Bummer. I drive Cornell fairly often as it's right near home. Actually my "test drive" loop is Agoura->Cornell->Mulholland->Las Virgenes->Agoura.

There are couple of deceiving turns where too much entry speed can land you in somebody's yard or in the oncoming traffic lane, as probably happened in this case. It is a residential street with some horse and cyclist traffic and thus not a brilliant spot to be driving extremely fast...
