Clearly they were much closer to violating this young woman's freedom of speech and her freedom to worship than she was to violating anyone else's freedoms. The left only believe in freedom of speech when you agree with them.

anything that is Free is worth Nothing. Free speach is worth fighting for and should never be called Free, but a fundamental right of any citizen that is granted by the creator and cannot be limited, in any way. Without speach, the right to have your own opinion, you are not a Free person, but a slave.

I am kind of shocked by the arguments being made against the this woman.
You WILL NOT find a person less interested in Christianity than myself. Hell, I married a Hindu. I not merely disinterested, I don't like most professed Christians I meet. They irritate the ***** out of me. But I will never understand the notion that religion must be drummed out of society at ever turn. Perhaps if we stopped hunting and destroying every last scrap of religion in our society, we would notice the HUGE spiritual hole that has formed. Like it or not, the Christian church played a role in keeping society civil in this country. If we drive it out of our culture.....well, I think we have already seen the results.

I've heard this "Jesus was a liberal" thing before, seen it on bumpers stickers.
Exactly where do people think that Jesus was a liberal? Is it just because he said that we should help the poor? That doesn't make him liberal, conservatives think we should help the poor too, just not through a mandated government program fed through our taxes.

I would think those who persecuted Jesus were some sort of conservative. The liberals were those Jesus may or may not have sought to save. The man himself, he was an independent, as could be seen in what has been recounted of him. New way of thinking, living, beliefs -- stuff like that. Anyway, if you can read this stuff on bumper stickers, personally I think you're a little too close to the car in front of you. ![]()

Liberals love correct-grammar though. We also hate improper-hyphenation.

If the word "conservative" can be defined as one who accepts the status quo, then most religious and social leaders who have advocated change would not fit the definition. Therefore, if Christ advocated change, then he would have been considered more "liberal" in his philosophy.
There is nothing wrong with seeking change. There is nothing wrong with advocating "staying the course". The result of having both is called "balance". Without balance, you would get some form of totalatarianism. But, there are those who fail to understand the need for balance in everything.

Who said that conservative equals the status quo?
I guess my point here is that liberals like to say that Jesus was a liberal, I am guessing due to his outreach to the poor and downtrodden. As a follower of Jesus and a believer in his teachings, I am certainly interested in how Jesus might view our world today. While it is certainly true that Jesus advocates charity for the poor, that isn't a liberal-only belief. I am a conservative and I donate to my church every month, much of which goes to help the poor. I just don't think that my government should be in charge of redistributing wealth through taxation and government programs. If there is a Bible passage that says Jesus was in favor of government programs and socialism I'd like to see it. Moreover, modern liberalism (at least as far as the Democratic party) has become defined in large part by the fringes of their party. I guarantee that Jesus would not be in favor of homosexual relationships or homosexual marriage. You don't have to read too much of the Bible to figure that one out. I suspect, also, that Jesus might be against removing prayer from our society, I bet he might be a little against removing things like "Under God" from the pledge or from our money. I'm also pretty certain that he would not favor banning religious activities in schools or dismissing creationism as bunk.

Here's a question: Would Jesus enjoy the power and influence he has today?
