I was just about to ask the same thing, except I'm going from SF to Warsaw, PL. What sites do you guys use to find good deals? So far my best deals came from:
Orbitz.com Cheaptickets.com Airgorilla.com

What the fk is in Warsaw, Poland? It has about as much sophistication as Bug Tussel in the heart of the Ozark Mountains has.

Good luck!! I am watching this thread now to see if there is an answer.
I watch the rates climb as the flight approaches. A ticket 1 month out would cost $200 the day before the flight it climbs up over $1000.

Check craigslist or the local newspaper. At times you can find airline passes that are transferable for a good price.

It really depends on what day you are flying & how full the planes are.
If it is a light travel day then occassionally there could be last minute specials... if you're lucky. I recently got a last minute one way flight across country through orbitz for $180 or so. It beat Southwest which was surprising for a one way flight. There is also Jet Blue, but not sure if they go to Portland. If you don't find anything cheaper on orbitz, expedia etc. I would just book the $206 flight. You never if the best price tommorow will be $180 or $1000. |

Jared.
Even $206 is not bad. You can't drive there for that.

Remember when gas was $1.99? Airfares were cheap then too. Jet fuel was $1.65 then.
It's between $4 and $5 a gallon now. Someone's gotta pay the difference. The days of the 'cheap' airfare are over.

Sign up for Southwest's "Ding" fares. I know people who've bought cheap tickets when the least expected to.
