Name this beetle... (ie bug not musician)



My wife found this guy near her car in Tucson last night. He's right at 3" long.

Looks like a Darkling Beetle. Fused wing case. Cannot fly.



If the antennae were longer, it could be a Sawyer Beetle.

Maybe not. Looks like the cephalothorax is too small and antennae too long.

Next thing you know she'll want to be a pilot. Actually, Tammy brought it home for Andi. At 6, one of her career options is entomologist.
