Jim makes a good point.

There are certainly a lot of amazing things happening around us.
All at once... At just the right time, distance and relationship to one another.

What are the chances? Oh yeah. I remember.

What irks me about these threads is when somebody comes along and says: "make your point, just don't use the Bible".

That's absurd!! Why would I rely on my own understanding, or worse yet, someone else who wants me to put full trust in their theory of the day?
Guess what? They are either already dead or will be shortly.
These so called "wise men" can't provide world peace, unity or happiness.

I put my trust in the Creator of all things who can never die.
The one who will provide everlasting life in peace.

Man offers you nothing but death...Think about it.

"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."

"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

your truth

well, the truth according to the JWs. You believe it to be the truth. Why must you proselytize? What compells you to do so? I ask in all honesty. In these debates I really don't try to convert anyone to my way of thinking or offer an single "truth", but rather only chime in when someone tries to use scientific theories (incorrectly) to support their belief system.

Today it cost me close to 3.00$/gal. reg. I was hoping I could use my wings instead, but unfortunately checked my backside (and elsewhere), and none to be found. Never had any.

And of course there is the irreducible.

Thats gold.

However there are some beliefs that do not warrant respect or tolerence. Adherence to a belief that there exists some all knowing all powerful being that exerts an influence in your life and will grant you eternal life is ridiculous.

A radical atheist respects your right to hold those beliefs, in the same way you are entitled to believe the sun orbits the earth. A radical atheist has no respect for the beliefs themselves.

But...evolution *is* a fact. It has been proven. It has been observed in laboratory conditions. The evidence for it in the fossil record is overwhelming. Are you saying that evolution has not occured? If so, then you have a lot of explaining to do and "creation" doesn't work - you'll have to come up with something better.

The *theory* of evolution is merely the scientific theory that attempts to explain the huge pile of evidence for the diversity of life on Earth that we have found around us. "Creationism" does not explain the evidence. Now, you might have a problem with the *theory* of evolution. That's fine. If you don't think the theory adequately explains the evolution that we have seen occur over the past millions of years, then simply point out where the theory is lacking. You can't say that there hasn't been any "evolution", though.

Mike, lets start at the beginning before we get to the "Evolving" of life, how did life begin?

If I remember correctly it was a lightning strike in a "soup" that had amino acids in it. No one knows where the amino acids came from but they were there. The lightning struck at the perfect moment to jump start a single cell. This cell eventually developed into a human.

The weirtd part is that in this immense universe we sent probes out into we cannot find a single other planet with ANY life at all on it. If life "adapts" and evolves like you say where is the life on other planets.

The day a life from another planet shows up here on earth I will throw my bible away.

The theory of evolution doesn't have anything to do with the *origins* of life on this planet. It only explains the *diversity* of life after it began.

As far as the theory of evolution is concerned, god could have started life. The truth is that nobody knows how life began.

Additionally, this statement makes no sense at all and has nothing to do with evolution. Do you understand the theory of evolution?

Where did the amino acids on the comets come from? Who created those?

Actually, there are some plausible theories about how life began, but in reality we really don't know.

First we have to establish where life came from before we can decided if it evolved. I feel it was created, your telling my it was just there and to not think about that.

Now comets are carrying life around the universe. So why is there no life anywhere else.

Like I said, the day life is discovered on another planet and we have proof without a doubt there are living creatures on another planet. I will throw away my bible and become an athiest.

Maybe I am not making my point clear. To admit God created life tells me that Evolution is bunk. The whole Evolution theory is based on the fact that there is no God and that life spontaniously appeared in a simple form then evolved into what we have today.

We supposidly came from a single cell organism according to Evolution.

If life can just appear from no where or from a comet then why is this not happening anywhere else in the universe?

Too many factors are in place on this planet for it all to be an accident.
