Another Amazing Las Vegas Story

Las Vegas is not the place to come to if you want to hear stories that uplift the human sprit. Las Vegas is the last stop on the road to he11 for every con man, grifter, degenerate gambler, cheat, liar, thief, scum bag, pimp and Democrat Politician.

I have frequented a Gun Shop here in LV called the Citadel. It is owned and operated by a Jon and April a couple of really nice down to earth people. Their stock and trade is mainily Assault Weapons, High Capacity High Tech Semi Auto Pistols, Ammo, all sorts of Tactical Gear and Gun Safes. On any given day you might see a couple of ex military, security types looking over the merchandise. A couple of years back they hired a guy named Mike to do their gunsmithing work and help run the store. Mike is an Ex-Special forces guy who did a coupla tours in Iraq and has 30 Kills as a Sniper. He even has a coupla Specail Forces tattoos. I never got along with Mike, he has always rubbed me the wrong way. As a matter of fact I had stopped taking my firearms transfer business to them because of Mike.

Well on Wednesday the BATF raided the Citadel all decked out in their Tactical gear. It seems they were there to arrest Mike. It seems that Mike is a FAKE, had forged all his documents and was living a lie. He had never served in the military or had done anything he claimed.and was in fact a felon and as such is prohibited from owning or handling firearms. He is out now on his own recogniscent. Jon and April are open again but are completely taken aback by what happened with Mike. They say they are out 15K, because of Mike, they also say nothing was stolen from them either.

And now the bonus story for your reading pleasure. There is another long time Gun Store here in LV called Bills Buy and Sell, well a couple of years back Bill had an employee that was selling guns and pocketing the money. Bill reportedly lost 100K on that one, well the upshot of it is that Bill decided to retire and close thebusiness and is now in the process of selling everything off. Well most of the story is true except for the part about Bill retiring, he lost his FFL over something that had to do with his exemployees thefts.

There is a reason they say that what happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas and that is if the truth ever got out nobdy would ever come here.

We had a plumbing contracting company next door to us that never had any business but the owner dove a brand new SL 55. Seemed like a nice enough guy, but had no employees or even a proper work truck.

So about 3 months after I started working here, a couple of guys from the ATF guys pull up and lead the guy out in cuffs. Turns out he was illegally selling unregistered fully automatic weapons!

I wouldn't think he could make 'big' money selling guns, but I'm not familiar with the market.

Good nose there Tabs.

I know a guy who's part of one clique of friends and he continually brags (with an insincere humbleness) about how he was a highly decorated Ranger and on and on and on. It's one sensational, unbelievable story after another.
After a while I said to myself that this guy is full of siht. Funny how some others seem to back him up to the hilt...lol.

Would love to find an online registry to out this dude.

U mean WORK!!!!!!!

It wouldn't be a bad gig, there is some money to be made. Not to get rich on though. I just have a fear of the overhead involved. I do allright just selling off my collection to upgrade it.

I know there are ones for verifying Navy Seals (Authentiseal and Veriseal), I don't know of one for other services.

It is the ones who brag, let alone discuss their experiences, that are usually either lying or embellishing: Unless they are among commrades...and then they usually make themselves the goofy, "man was I scared" brunt of the story.

I didn't even know my father had earned the Bronze Star and Silver Star in Korea until I could drive...not a scintilla of evidence anywhere in the house.

That is the way it should be, at least in my mind...and he did mention, once we found out from a friend of his and he owned up to the medals, that, "Jesus, I was scared..."

Have to agree - my neighbor is an ex-Navy Seal and former U.S. Marshall. No doubt about it either; I've seen more than enough to convince me the guy's legit. He really doesn't like to talk too much about his experiences, orders, missions, etc. I don't pry. Every once in a while he'll mention something but in general I have to agree that it's something that isn't really bragged about. From the sound of it, a lot of the missions are things that leave the participants sort of conflicted - one way to deal with it appears to be to bury it as "doing one's job" and not dwell on it. He's definately got a few stories in his past though and I think at this point in his life he's trying to be a "good guy" maybe to atone for what he feels a bit guilty about doing in the past - whether "on orders" or not. It makes sense.

The few stories I have heard are pretty crazy. Those guys see/do some pretty insane stuff.

I did not know the extent of my step-fathers military record till his death recently and we had to dig up his VA records. Lt. Col of Delta Forces in Vietnam, awards that overfilled his discharge doc award box and apparently part of the Phoenix program. He did not like to talk about his service and the movie Rambo was a comedy for him.

People like Mike dishonor his service.
