Knee looks painful. Xrays ok? No ligament damage? What kind of antiboitics did they give you?

Considering your speed during the accident, it's pretty clear you did an amazing job of limiting the injuries for both you and your girlfriend. Good reflexes. It could have been so much worse.

Todd, fate could have killed you but instead just took a few bites. Stay the hell away from bikes. Don't test the patience of your guardian angel.

Dang, I was going to say that. Actually, those will heal and become "sword scars" for the future.

The knee is getting less painful. I'm almost out of vicodin, but have a stash of tramadol if i need help. I'm on cephalexin 500mg, but they only gave me a 7 day supply. I think I might call my doc and get another weeks worth. X-rays were all negative, no apparent ligament damage, but the whole knee is pretty swollen right now (and you can say "hi" to my patella). Tought to tell what is from the methylene blue test though (finally stopped peeing blue today).

Not sure how long it will take to heal in, but I'm guessing quite a while. I think I better get the monthly rental rate on the slush box...

Todd, Just saw your pictures....yep, you were lucky. My wife is a CWOCN wound nurse (lucky for me with the amount of metal I have in my legs/feet) , and she says that the Xeroform that she saw in the pic (yellow stuff you had in your hand) will keep your wound moist and it has antimicrobial agent in it. She says "he's young, has good antibiotics and vicodin, he'll heal up just fine"...If you want to try something else as well as the xeroform, acticoat silver (Smith & Nephew product) or silvadene cream works good on road rash as well. Heal up & hair over quick and she says "stay off the f'ing bike and spend more time with your g/f in the Porsche".

I left a considerable amount of flesh behind as well. Not quite the amount of Todd's, but enough. I also did not fall on pavement. Lots of gravel and dirt to clean out. They pulled it all together. I could not bend my knee for a long time. A little bit at a time and now I have full movement.

Looking alive, is looking good after any get off.

Crashing sucks, but bikes get fixed or replaced and bodies heal up just enough to go back and do it again.

Two friends of mine have launched their bikes into and over track fences in the past two weekends. Not much left of either bike.

Ride fast. Take chances.

I'm not trying to be insensitive, but how many times have you said you would give up the car or airplane after seeing one of them crash?

With that said, I hope you mend well. It could be worse. You could set off the metal detector when you walk through, like I do.
