I got a 3 ton with jack stands at Sears for around $60
Pretty decent construction. Craftsman warranty

got a set of two jack stands and a floor jack from harbor freight for $80. definitely not a light nascar unit the thing weighs some 80lbs. if i need to be wrenching something that is on pretty good or needs to be up for a while i use ramps. other wise use jack stands even for a oil change.
