917 Replica....

Sadly who ever built it had a pretty weird understanding of proportions, or maybe the moulds got hot and warped during the build?

Excuse me whilst I go and bleach my eyes!

a bit off looking, but not that bad, and sounds like it's got some interesting engineering, turbo, based on 914, turbo brakes. It might go like mad. It's probably fun to drive, but it's not my thing.

That's what I thought it was going to be when I clicked the link, but after looking at it, I don't think that's what it is. I could be wrong. Maybe the Gulf paint scheme makes a laser look better than most of the pics that I've seen.

It might be, but if it is, then it's been modified quite a bit. Similar "off" proportions on the sides, but this one is better than the other laser pics that I've seen.

To be honest the red version looks ok but it doesn't really look that much like a 917, it just looks like some kind of sixties era road goiing race car, which is no bad thing. Once you paint it in gulf colours and try and alter it to look like the Porsche it starts looking a bit silly.

I'm not going to argue with the mechanical spec though it should be a riot to drive.
