He simply pointed out that this is yet another attempt by the left (similar to the Jersey girls) to put out a victim to fight their battles as they know anyone that disagrees with them will be attacked as a monster. That he is being used by the left as a tool.
How right he was.

Lots of suckers out there. Rush is not in the business of routing out the problems of society. His agenda has nothing to do with public policy, except in how that policy can help him achieve his goal, which is SELLING. He needs income, and advertisers, and listeners. And the best way to get those listeners is to be very emotional. Accuse people of things. I wouldn't call him insensitive. Sensitivity has nothing to do with it. He is a simple "opportunist" and would probably be very comfortable agreeing with this label, off the record.

I'll tell you what Len and Tim. Have one of your parents die very slowly from Parkinsons. Watch it and live through it over a 10 year period. Then come back and see if you don't have a different take on Rush's "innocent" comments.

I guess his fans rise to defend Rush in every case -- I thought them defending him for calling Chelsea Clinton "a dog" was pretty low. I mean, she was 13.
But this is indefensible. ------- Parkinson Foundation Debunks Limbaugh’s False Smears of Michael J. Fox Rush Limbaugh has repeatedly attacked actor Michael J. Fox for appearing in television campaign ads promoting stem cell research. Fox, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, appears “visibly racked by tremors” in the ads. “He is exaggerating the effects of the disease,” Limbaugh told listeners yesterday. “He’s moving all around and shaking and it’s purely an act. … This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn’t take his medication or he’s acting.” According to the National Parkinson Foundation, Limbaugh has no idea what he’s talking about. The Washington Post reports: [I]n an interview in Ladies Home Journal’s September edition, Fox said he was taking a medication that causes jerking, fidgeting and other abnormal involuntary movements, known as dyskinesia. Fox said he was taking another medication to lessen those side affects. An official of the National Parkinson Foundation said movements like those exhibited by Fox are the result of taking medication to treat the disease, which would otherwise result in rigidity. “When you see someone with those movements, it’s not because they have not taken medication but because they probably have taken medication for some time,” the official said. “If you don’t take the medication, then you freeze.” Limbaugh continued the assault today, calling Fox’s video “an attack ad” that is “filled with disinformation about embryonic stem cell research.”

Perhaps to help clarify for those that did not hear the show.
Rush did not point out the tremors of Fox as an isolated event to ridicule. He was discussing the way the left puts victims up to fight their battles knowing that anyone who disagrees with them will be viewed as a monster, it's an ugly tactic. In that vein he was getting across the point that Fox was made to look as pathetic as possible to achieve that goal. That after viewing that commercial that is so painful to watch and evokes so much sympathy, how could anyone disagree with him (whether you know the issue or not)? Rush was critical of the tactic, never Fox or his disease with he expressed great sympathy and compassion for. He also lauded Fox for his foundation and his efforts to find a cure. All of this before the **** hit the fan, so it was sincere.

Fox's entire point of appearing that way (certainly by choice) was to use emotion rather than fact to make his case. That is the problem. The emotion and sympathy is so strong that no one dares oppose him.

That's the problem. The issue has become "What God wants us to do", as opposed to what are the facts. The MJF ad is compelling. In this case, that's a good thing.

r i g h t The left is the only one that tugs on the heartstrings of the public r i g h t And of course Rush didn't mean anything personal by it. Just like his comments about drug addicts being beneath contempt back in the mid 90's weren't personal... |

I'm not picking sides on the issue, I don't know both sides well enough on this particular bill. I'm simply pointing out that Rush didn't mock or belittle those with the disease which is what the media is implying.
