Ok, I've had enough of this..
http://www.cnn.com/2006/WEATHER/10/26/colo.blizzard.ap/index.html
Dreaming of palm trees and a fuffy pink drink with a paper umbrella. And yes, 700K for a house in SoCal just may be worth it.

first Buffalo and now Colorado, hope this isn't a portent of the rest of the winter.
Maybe I should just plan on being in Fla. all winter instead of just for a month

well, it's close to november now, and so far i've seen rain on 4 days, and even then it wasn't a full day...
temp is still around 15 C average, and for the Netherlands, i can assure you that is warm and dry for the time of year... we had i think allready 5 months this year, breaking their average temp record since the meteo boys started logging data way back in the days...and october also seems hell bent on breaking it's record... so on my end, things do seem to be heating up

It's not all fun and games here. Sure, it's 85 degrees and we have a nice mellow breeze coming off the ocean and I'm wearing shorts and sandles, but the humidity is down around 15% so it's drying out my sinuses. I appreciate your sympathy and support but I'll be OK....

But a front arrives tonight dropping the temps 10-15 and the humidity into the 30-40 range. Every day is a new day weatherwise this time of year.

We have a cold front coming through as I type, Brrrrr, it's only going to be 73* tomorrow and 76 the next day. Maybe I won't wear flip-flops. Cold toes can be life threatening.

It was 45F when I left home today but already 75 a half-hour later and I actually got a nasty sunburn driving down PCH. Oh the perils of SoCal living!
Heading to Boulder next week and I'm thinking of staying over to Saturday and heading to the mountains. Are the ski places open yet?

Hahahahahahahaha!!!
BTW just because ONE isolated place in the world has an early winter is not a disproval of global climate change, just as one isolated place having a long summer is proof of it. . . One needs to look at the "big picture" aggregate evidence, which is overwhelmingly supportive of the notion that the planet as a whole is getting warmer. Cripes, for some of the self-proclaimed know-it-all scientist/engineer types on this board to be taking this sort of myopic position it's pretty sad. For "scientists", they certainly have a hard time divorcing their personal opinion from empirical evidence supported by observations, research, analysis and known scientific principles. Maybe they don't teach that in engineering school anymore. If not, I cringe for the prospects of our future as a society. I'd hope like hell that those designing things that can kill people would be a bit more capable of applying the principles of science universally rather than selectively/at convenience and able to say "gee I guess my personal opinion is wrong in this case, although I don't particularly like it - why don't I try to understand this better" once in a while. . .

73 degrees here yesterday with 16% humidity and me in a sweatshirt!!
Not like the "good old days" on the east coast when a day like that would find people dancing in the streets. Anything under 85 and we consider it cold!!

Wow. It took only two seconds to find a truthful of hurt. Ain't the internet great? I guess if one believes in a round earth, NASA is pretty hard to argue with. This is less than 30 years change.
from http://www.awitness.org/journal/melt_ice_cap_glacier.html One of the points of global warming is the SWINGS in average temperatures. Even Cali could be affected if the Gulf airstream ever reverses. The Amazon even reversed course once. Bah, podiatrists, cardiologists, they're all doctors. 1)Insert fingers into ears 2)Repeat "Lalalala", or the ancient Buddhist mantra from Tailand "Ohhh Wa. Tagu. Siam." Stay the course, Luddites. Yes, it might be nice and sunny here with a nice breeze. But there's zero humidity and that means somewhere a nearby mountain is on fire.
