Both, I think. I have 32. Installed it on a two yr. old IBM laptop with 512mb of ram. The machine ran like crap.

Both.
We have been running it quiet a while. Like all MS products, its a memory hog. It can REALLY help to get a bios updates for your machine, and see if the your video card vendor is putting out an update for vista.

Porsche-O-Phile - that's way over powered for a fileserver...
 Although if you want to upgrade, I may have a pair of 66 mhz (front side bus speed) P2 chips that are faster than 266...
