Ducktails on Targa's
An opinion has been expressed, by someone who shall remain anonymous (unless he chooses to reveal himself
![]() I've always liked them, and while I have plenty to do on my car before I add any spoilers to it, let's get this out in the open. Here's a couple of pics from my Ducktail spoiler collection. A red Targa, imagine that. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And, in this photo there's at least one Targa. ![]() |

Yup. Looks good. I have thought about this as well. My p-car is close to the darker red(2 pics) in the pics above and it does look good... Now, where can I get some money for one?

I got no problem with a ducktail on a targa. I'm just too lazy to try to align a new decklid.

I like the look of a duck tail on a targa better than a whale tail. I don't know why, it just seems to fit with the lines better. However, I like the look of the targa, and the coupe for that matter, without a tail too.

I love Ducks on Targas! That is why I chose to put one on mine. They finish off the tail end of the car and give a nice period look.

I think ducks look best on narrow bodies and targas.
I wouldn't put a whale on anything that didn't have SC flares or wider. my $.02

As an "unbiased" 951 owner, I honestly think that the Targa body style looks much better with a ducktail. Just my 2 cents.

Anonymous......................Now Pat why are you trying to stir the pot? Who was the decenter? I say string him up!............Oh wait that was me. I just don't think the duck lines flow with the rear window profile. JMO, And I might add I had some suport...........I just forget who was standing next to me. I hate being old.
![]() Forget the above if you are talking about a red targa.

I like the duck on a targa. My targa has a non-spoiler decklid right now, I might think about putting a duck on it when I re-do it with a respray, etc. Still not sure.

So far, it seems that the opinions are based on esthetics, which we know is in the eye of the beholder. Me, I've got to get the rear lowered to match the front. Then mount the 16 inch tires I bought, which will be here later this week. Then get the audio system sorted out, it has this popping that indicates a short someplace, also shipping the top off for recovering, and on and on. The duck is a long way off, if ever. |
