Will be smoking ribs tomorrow. What kind of smoker? What type of wood? Did you brine it first?

Stuck in a hotel in San Jose, CA with no place open to eat so I'm friggin hungry. I actually can't wait to leave in another hour so I can actually find some food in the airport, probably the only place where business' are actually open today.
Working on Thanksgiving sucks (but I should be thankful I have a good job, I suppose). Last edited by 450knotOffice; 11-23-2006 at 12:20 PM.. |

Linda and I didn't cook a bird yesterday, that fell to my brother, so we're going to do one today. I think we're going to combine the Jacques & Julia (Jacques Pepin and Julia Child) method of turkey cooking with roasting it on the grill. Will let you know how this turns out.
My wife did cook pies yesterday, a fabulous Pecan pie, and the usual punpkin pie. I think she used a recipe out of Cook's Illustrated for the pecan. Their recipes are almost always very good. |

![]() Did my turkey in the smoker yesterday, cooked it over apple wood. Only problem was, with the strong wind and rain , I had a hard time controlling the heat. Still came out pretty good, just took alot longer than I had planned.
