Timberland Warranty Rocks
Its my fifth pair of Timberland boots over the last 15 years that lost water repellency over time. I usually just toss them and get a new pair but thought i'd send them an email to see what they will do.
Long story short, I sent them my old boots that are discontinued, they send me a brand spanking new current pair. Timberland has a customer for life.

Columbia also backs up their products very well, I had to return a pair of their sandals and they were replaced with no problems at all...

Very cool story. Another good company is Jansport - I've had two backpacks either repaired or replaced under their lifetime warranty over the years - no questions asked. My current pack (use daily) is pretty dead - zipper destroyed on one of the pouches, torn, etc, but I'm considering just paying full-price for another one out of gratitude for their not being a-holes about standing behind their products in the past rather than putting in for another warranty replacement, even though I'm sure they'd send me another one without question.

I'll 2nd the JanSport comment. Around 27 years ago I had the zipper pull out of a JanSport pack. I sent it back to have it repaired (thinking I would have to pay for it). Instead they sent me two new packs to replace it - one a bit smaller than my discontinued pack and another larger, internal frame pack.
