BTW, Chris has taken some very nice pictures! He has a good eye and a good grasp of DOF. If you happen to be at his house and are fortunate enough, maybe he'll show you his portfolios.

slodave 03-14-2008 11:13 PM

Jeff, I would not be surprised if that is dust from falling debris from the hillside.

Here's my rig for shooting the moon :D

Dude! Way cool. I have to beg to borrow my buddies Nikkor-Zoom 1200mm f/11.
The power is so high you have to hold your breath or your heartbeat screws up the shot if not on a pod.
Nice duct tape Dave!

Victor would comment "gotta have more zoom"

I do have a Kowa TSN821 spotting scope that is also powerful. Has a camera adaptor but nothing like true telephoto lens.

1200mm? That's a friggen' mini telescope!

I own the camera body only (I do own the Great Dane mini statue in the background as well.).... Duct tape is not my doing, but I would've done the same thing!

Eh, my P&S focused on my pants...

Tick, biggun' at that. Carried it back to Chris's house after our trek. I think I have bed bugs (couch bugs for me) I have been finding these little things - similar to the pic, but with some yellowish spots on one side of my couch and on my hand during a couple of naps, but not the marks of having been bitten. I got rid of all of the ones I could find the other day and have not seen anymore.

Well, now I feel every itch and movement - thinking it is poison oak or ticks!

Knock on wood - I have been VERY lucky regarding ticks. At the most, I only find one - like I did yesterday and always on my pant legs. I know people, that find a number of them after every hike.

My long hair does not help either! I was wearing the bandana (as pictured above) and had my hair tucked down the back of my shirt.

Jeff Hail 03-14-2008 11:44 PM

They hate hair gel too

slodave 03-14-2008 11:48 PM

Unless we can get a number of guys willing to canyon dive, I think I may be done for the season. Too much overgrowth and other bad things until next end of fall/winter.

This thread has officially gotten disgusting. ;)

Jeff,
There is TONS of pollen in the air right now. I would be willing to bet that's what your "ghosts" are.

Both of my cars are covered in pollen. It looks like an orange colored dust.
I made the mistake of leaving my Jeep roofless for a few days, and parked.
When I went to drive it, it looked like somebody had dumped a huge bag of dust all over the thing.
It's everywhere.

OK, I've been on You-tube again. Guys, remember the spirited Mul run a year or so ago with our friendly neighborhood Audi R8? Well..

Wowee Jeremy!

I don't know who has more balls (or stupidity), the guy driving the 911 on a wet 10-foot wide country road going full throttle, or the dumb idiots standing right next the road waiting to get creamed.

Good video, thanks for posting.
