Gorgeous.

The back of the trailer reads: "Parts" and "Sales"
Wonder what would have transpired had Banning asked for an MFI pump?

The LBGP pics are really cool! I wish I could have made it down. For anyone who's interested, here's a link to the Streets thread with all the pics from today (Me, Chris, Radu... ripping it up).

JIM! Where were you?!?

Great photos Chris..

I love pit pics of the works teams. Always something they do not want you to see. They usually don't find the humor in it.

Yeah, Long Beach was fun. It was good to see Porqupin Chris too!

For Banning: I found some great MFI threads which may help you getting the MUL RSR on the road.

Thanks Jeremy,
The second one called Ultimate MFI Resoures thread is especially useful.

I bought some bubble wrap and special boxes to send the pump to be fixed. It sat for too long I'm afraid. I couldn't keep starting the car regularly after my house fell to the ground in the '94 Northridge quake. I guess you could say that I was preoccupied. It's no excuse, just an explanation.

Porsche MFI systems need to be kept up with fresh fuel, regular starting, filter replacements, and NO contamination. ;)

You might associate southern Italy with sunny cloudless skies, Mediterranean waters, and sandy beaches, and certainly those things are on display in this image. But for anyone interesting in knowing just how fast a car can go, southern Italy might call to mind the Narḍ Ring. The Narḍ Ring is a circular track that is 12.5 kilometers (7.8 miles) in circumference, and steeply banked to minimize the amount of steering a driver has to do. For a car moving at 200 miles per hour (about 320 kilometers per hour), the track is like an infinitely long straight road, says Motor Trend. Car manufacturers and racers use the track to test a car’s top speed.

The Narḍ Ring is also easy to spot from space, making it a frequent subject of astronaut photography. It also shows up well in satellite images such as this one. The Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) flying on NASA’s Terra satellite captured this cloud-free image of the Narḍ Ring on August 17, 2007. The man-made track imposes a white circle on the geometric rectangles of green and tan made by agricultural fields. Several smaller tracks wind through the southernmost section of the ring.

The surrounding countryside hints at a much slower way of life than that portrayed by the Narḍ Ring. The land is largely agricultural with populated areas along the coast. The largest center of population shown in the image is the small town of Villaggio Boncore. Its reflective man-made surfaces shine bright white in the lower right corner of the image. A sandy beach lines the Gulf of Taranto, which is turquoise near the shore where waters are shallow.

Hey, I think that same mechanic was giving me the evil eye earlier in the morning.

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Germans?

Forget it, he's rolling.

And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...

the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!

**Update***
Way back many pages ago on this thread a photo was posted of this car.
Interesting life this car had. It was first modified by a canyon racer in big block form of all things with a 4 speed in 1976. It appeared in Super Chevy Magazine twice (1978?? not confirmed) and in 1980 and then disappeared......The car re-appeared in 1984 and was sold through the San Fernando Valley Recycler less engine and trans. It was bought by Dave V. of Sun Valley and a 350 was installed along with another 4 speed. Word of mouth says it frequented Mulholland regularly in its early life. The car remained hidden in an underground parking lot in Van Nuys on Sherman Way for two years and was seldom driven due to "cop magnet" issues. It did run some street races at Glenoaks and Pendleton until that was shutdown. The car supposedly was sold again and never seen again.

Dave is an old friend whom I have not seen in 14 years who collected 69' SS El Camino's in the 80's. I have a strange feeling this car may still be in Daves hands having been hidden away for all these years along with a very rare El Camino.

I first was introduced to this car in 1984 when Dave asked me to look at some of the fiberglass work that was cracking around the flares. The Imron paint job was very well done but due to age of the work and other issues a lot of work and total re-spray was needed. The car was still a 10, 10 at that time. Up close it show it signs of battle.

Now I just need to find Dave and find out what happened to the car?

Everything is great Dave. The company I work for was bought out Wednesday for 6.2 billion. Do I have a job? At least for 8 months I do then we will see what happens. I think I will be ok. Uncertainty is better than corporate madness these days. At least I know some lousy managers will be gone....karma is a great thing.

My 401 stock went up 51% in 1 day. Yup I am feeling fine!

slodave 04-25-2008 11:45 PM

My 911 is brainless at the moment. I removed the soldered chip (24 pin, 2k) from the DME, installed a 28 DIP socket and now awaiting a Steve Wong 8k chip. Weee!

Just because the train slows down for awhile dosn't mean the trip is over.

We are gonna have some fun soon Radu.

By the way, while writing the first edition of The Mulholland Experience, I must have heard that expression, "Mulholland is my road", from two dozen people. I smile every time I hear that. :D

While growing up on Mulholland since the mid-fifties, I was fortunate enough to hear the racers of the 50's, 60's, and early 70's from my Mulholland facing bedroom window. After that I was lucky to participate in that same racing that I grew up listening to.

Mulholland belongs to us all, and we that love the road shall become it's legacy.
