I don't know about that--the part about generating any interest. We think the car's pretty neat, but in today's jaded world, unless your car costs 6 figures, no one's gonna blink an eye. They'll probably just feel sorry for you that you can't afford something newer. The only Porsches that seem to generate any interest at Supercar Sunday are Carrera GTs.

Would you believe that I was at Hennessey Porsche (Alpharetta, GA) and spotted a light yellow SWB car parked under a pull-through amidst a line of other Pcars waiting for pickup . . . and didn't notice the car two vehicles away was a Carrera GT until I turned to walk away. Some people appreciate the ones that are taken care of (or carefully built) rather than purchased with large amounts of cash.

I spoke to Robert at Jerry Fairchild Industries and asked him a few questions. He is the one who just repaired my MFI pump and made my car able to run again.
After we talked, I checked the Injector sockets for cracks and retightened. After starting the engine and taching to 3000rpm, and then just letting it idle, it seems that only one injector is leaking now. It idles better now, with less smoking and less back-firing. The Carrera must be waking up. ;)

There was one of those at Bob's last week. Speed Channel was doing something with Tommy Kendall and the ever so worn out Carmen Electra (SP?).
It's a damn good looking car even in person.

Speaking of Bob's,
Anybody going this week?

The first time I applied for the plates I had to explain what it stood for. I revealed the meaning and the application was declined as it promoted/encouraged an illegal activity, street racing. I let a little time go by then applied again. This time I explained that it stood for "Mulholland Inspired Roadway Revivalist Consortium". Further explained that I was part of a small group of enthusiasts who promote awareness of roadways in Southern California designed by the world famous engineer William Mulholland. They took my $40.00 and said Thank You very much.

All depends on the idiot you get on the phone. I've seen outrages plates.

More

Very Nice Kevin!

My sister is doing another documentary about Mulholland Racing and this evening we are meeting in Deadmans to do an interview with one of Mulholland's most competitive drivers.

Afterwards we are filming his racecar from the rear of an Explorer thru the Racecourse. This should be interesting.

Can you guess who this is?

LOL!

Noah930 09-17-2008 07:47 PM

Hmm. Just took the racecourse this afternoon. Had I known you would be doing some filming tonight at Deadman's, I would have stopped by on my way home to say hi.

I hear they met Ranger Edminston this evening. What a tool.
