test

Wow. The picture of the metallic green Ford is REALLY good. With the lighting and colors it looks like you staged it. Well done.

Retrorick 09-15-2007 05:50 PM

Yep, a real Tucker. Number 46 of 50. And no, there aren't still 50 left. It was impressive to see one in person.

This took a long time to read. It was quite entertaining. The RSR subject car is absolutely stunning. I hope your road gets preserved to the satisfaction of all.

I'd say they are great for someone who considers himself a "hobbyist"!!

yep a real tucker - i think it said #42 on the license plate. swiveling center headlamp and all
very cool
other interesting cars
Lotus europa series one in team gold leaf colors, early mini with an integra type R conversion, yellow corvette with , ahem.. interesting seat cover, several early commercial trucks (30's) , the 427 SC cobra- real, another all aluminum fakie, bikes out the wazoo, ford GT, chopped top custom vista cruiser wagon roof on the ugly series 70's T bird, etc etc etc

shame that this will all get shut down as the neighbors have plenty to complain about. Retirement home literally facing the parking lot! And with all the loud pipes- these poor people gotta have gone deaf years ago

Ya think? Bob's Friday night car show has been going on for YEARS. The cops are there all night watching over it, but being part of it as well. Seems like the city would want it to continue... sort of a "historical significance" kind of thing.

Also, I think about 1/2 of the car owners at Bob's could be patrons of the retirement home.;)

Great pics Derek!! Too bad you didn't get a shot of the seat cover on the Yellow Vette convert. Dave, Randy and I got a pretty nice shot!

My seat cover might have gotten a little upset about me taking pics of other seat covers.;)

(Actually, my seat cover really doesn't mind.)

Although this may seem to be the case at this point in time, you might want to be carefully as things like this tend to become "ammunition in reserve" when affections start to weaken and fuel to feed the heated argument is needed .

Just an example of how interlaced the automotive world is here in SoCal. The original creator of that t-bird was Dale Gould. Dale and I worked for Barris Ind. back in the late '70s. (The current owner Tony still works for George) Dale and I left Barris together and went to work for Dan Haggerty to do the bodywork on the Lola T70 mentioned much earlier in this thread.

That's funny! When you went over to talk to the owner of that car, Radu and I were talking about how it looked like one of those old Barris customs.

KevinP73 09-17-2007 12:32 PM

You thought I was joking when I said the top lifted off and when inverted became a glass bottom boat. Dale used to carry a small trolling motor in the car with him just to show it could be done.
