Great Dan. A weekly Mullholland drive is a great idea. I look forward to seeing you and sloDave again!

I will definitely try to make it out every few weeks.... ;-)

Use to live in Sherman Oaks and I still visit my Mom in North Hollywood........

Dan, thanks for coming out today! We normally do not do some of the things that were done up on Mulholland, but, I had a bad week and did not really have a care in the world. Things happended, please do not let that reflect badly on our little group.

I tried to snap a few pics...

How Mulholland looks on the drive home...

I had a great time today, with little inhibitions. Jim, I was very surprised to see you in my rear view so often! WOW!, your gf really hung in there.

Radu, I had to show something and today was the day. I know you are trying for King of the Hill, but I thought I'd introduce some new blood today

Dave

As I told you, for an instant there, I thought it was going to be MY "new blood" that was "introduced" today! I was looking forward and suddenly looked up into my rearview an instant before you swung out of my lane and passed me. I thought you were going to hit me doing about 40 MPH faster than I was going!!

I've got no problem with anything that happened today....I was doing everything you were doing......well, almost!

Dan,

Some of the intersections up there are interesting! Once you drive the road a few times, you get a sense of how they work I definitely would not have hit you. I also run steel lined brake cables and can wait for the last minute to stop

I hope you had a good time and will join us again! I look forward to seeing you on one of the other Pelican runs.

Dave

P.S. I think your car would do very well at the track!

Kevin,

Did Carol drop a contact lens at one point? Seemed like she was looking for something while you were driving

something was rolling around on the floor, I was concerned it would find it's way under a pedal.

I went to San Diego to autocross at the crack of dawn but tech inspect wouldn't pas me because i was missing a $9 front battery clamp so I ended up in TiaJuana getting price quotes on having a exhaust system built with a Magnaflow or Flowmaster (about $150 for those who are playing the home version of our little game)

Uh, huh, right. A 2.7 with no external oil cooler and 127,000 original miles on the clock at the track

Well, it'd be entertaining for a lap or three. Then it would be entertaining for the spectators! what with all the bits of aluminum flying out of it and the pools of oil!

My own P.S: Actually, my car did better than I thought it would yesterday. The limiting factor was definitely ME! After awhile I caught a case of Old Man's Disease (no, the other one!) - caution started setting in. Some of those curvves are decreasing radius turns and in at least one point coming back I was hitting it hard, upshifting out of 2nd and there was a sharp hump in the road right as I was dialing in some turn and it got squirrely while I had only one hand on the wheel - pretty much scared the poop outta me for a second there. After that I cooled it. Craig and I had already lost you guys anyway. But I had a good (short) time. I think the Angeles Crest run strating up off Foothill and Angeles Crest out of La Canada allows for a longer, faster run. Next time they do that one I'm gonna have to bring a map though.

By the way Dan. You get off of the 134 at Lankerscheim, turn left, right on Riverside and left on Vineland.

Not always.....my youngest daughter(according to her mother) was concieved on Mulhulland. Grandstand to be precise. I remember being distracted several times by the sound of some crazy hot rodder flying past only to return from the opposite direction a couple minutes later. Maybe I should have named her "Mulhulland".

Thanks forthe tip. I can't believe it took until the 4th page of this thread to get that driving direction tidbit on here!

I'm confused, your car was the bright yellow SC with the 'glass front and rear bumpers? That car is AWESOME. I liked it very much. When mine was in the paint shop (when I bought it) I really thought about going with a much brighter yellow like yours, or orange....but in the end went with original.
Yeah, I never thought I would like beige, but it looks amazing.

I honestly wasn't looking for a yellow car, but when I saw it I fell in love. And it is the original color. sort of.. Thanks for the compliments.
