Went out again today.
Sorry, no road pics.
Sort of the same pics as last week but without the Malibu.
We need new people.SmileWavy

Anyway... post runs out and back, had some food and beverages at the Fox.
Good times.
Oh, and my passenger, Jeff, is looking for an SC or Carrera for himself.
Can you help?

Whew! Just got home, again. Parked my car in the garage and smelled the tell tailed sign of heated brake pads - 'cept the 911 has been parked for a few hours. Took the Toyota back out and just came home via Mulholland. Poor Toyota brakes!

You know, if you were really good you wouldn't even use your brakes. Also, I hear that if you just disconnect your brake lights, your pads last longer.

It's cool. Wondered where you were. Next time maybe.

pieterk 03-03-2007 11:54 AM

Since I broke my differential on new year's day right behind Dave B. at the bottom of Piuma, I've been jonesing for a fix so badly--but the 911 won't be ready until next week.

And I've been out of town more than in lately. But now I'm in again.

Would an S2000 be unwelcome company tomorrow?:D

lfot 03-03-2007 12:51 PM

an s2000 would be super cool.

oceanvue 03-04-2007 08:25 AM

Are you guys going to roll today?

lfot 03-04-2007 10:02 AM

as far as i know.
i'm heading down to starbucks at 2

pieterk 03-04-2007 10:58 AM

Damnit. I'm not going to be able to make it. Too much work to do and I'm still not really out from under 16 hours of jet lag, as I had over-optimistically hoped to be.

Have fun and be safe!

gostraight 03-04-2007 11:02 AM

I'll be there!

Here's some pics that Mike (in the cool R32) took. Had some new guys on today. 8 cars in all including a Lexus is250 and an '86 500 SEC (fast!), and Jim in the SC w/ the RS look.
Good times.

I Juuust made it. Kinda like the thanksgiving day run, I came flying in the parking lot in just enough time to follow everyone out. It was nice to meet more Porsche guys and have a great drive. As always in this area, local drivers held up the "spirited" drive at a few spots, but it was a ton of fun. I can feel the weight-loss in my new set up. I also found out that 4 of us are going to OTR on the 14th, so I'm assuming we will have a convoy going up to Willow Springs(my first track day, my own car). Maybe we should start a thread about that(if its not already in the autox/track area). Over all great time and good way to round out the weekend of driving Nascar's at California speedway(my second time).

Thanks for driving with me!

JIM

slodave 03-04-2007 11:46 PM

Hi Jim,

There are more people going up to Willow. Last time, we met off of the 14 Fwy., then cruised the rest of the way up. Maybe you all could do that again. Don't forget to get a ride from Jack. ;) Better than an e-ticket ride at Disneyland!

Dave

nameisbauer 03-04-2007 11:58 PM

I heard he is "fun" to drive with. Do I just ask Jack? I don't know how it works there, instuctors and such.

I just found the other thread (williow springs) on here, I posted in there also.

Goto this thread and say hello. Maybe he'll check this thread as well. OTR is mostly just you and the track (ok, you share the track). If Jack has time or if one of the other drivers that are instructors have time, they will sit right seat and give you pointers. You just have to ask.

Jack was nice enough to give me a ride for two good laps in his car and then two good laps in my car with me as passenger. Being driven in your car is a great experience as well. When I am able to get back, I really would like Jack or one of the other guys to give me some instruction - or join the POC and go thru their classes...

Hey Kevin (2)!

Guess I could use it as a warm up for Wednesday.
So at this point it will be the 2 of us a 2pm.

In case people aren't paying attention to the "Mulholland RSR" thread, Chris Banning has said something about bringing the RSR to one of our Sunday runs!

nameisbauer 03-11-2007 10:37 AM

I am in Seattle, so I am out today. We should make plans to meet up on Wednesday. I can't wait to see AND drive with Chris Banning's RSR.

Pat_in_L.A. 03-11-2007 02:09 PM

Damn. Maybe next week.

KevinP73 03-11-2007 04:07 PM

That was fun guys Thanks for letting me tag along. It was actally the first sucessful outing of the corvair with the turbo motor in it. I had to turn off on Laurel Canyon due to what I thought was low fuel, turned out to be a faulty gauge or sending unit.
Thanks again guys.

Thanks much for coming out, Kevin.
Too bad about the fuel gauge, but oh well.

lfot 03-11-2007 04:51 PM

Sparse attendence this Sunday, but still a lot of fun.
Radu's blackie is still at TRE, but he makes a great passenger.
Kevin from Automotive Innovations showed up in his Turbo Corvair.
Good times.

Jeremy Cottrell 03-11-2007 06:39 PM

I had some stuff to take care of today, but count me in for next Sunday. Radu will be ready then too! My buddy Randy may join us with a 73 RS clone.

Cool!
We'll also have at least 1 if not more Lotus Elise.

gostraight 03-16-2007 04:18 PM

so who's in this weekend? Derek? Dave ? Jeremy? Kevin(2)Jim?

KevinP73 03-16-2007 04:32 PM

Looks like perfect weather for it.
I'm staying late tonight to swap in some different springs in the hopes of improving the ride.
Count me in.

lfot 03-16-2007 05:17 PM

I'm in.
Sorted out my vibration issues, so I need a little confirmation.

oceanvue 03-16-2007 05:40 PM

I'm clearly unequivicably IN. If it wasn't so far to get towed home, I'm tempted to bring the 928

joe payne 03-16-2007 05:49 PM

place and time?

nameisbauer 03-16-2007 06:09 PM

Probably not a good idea with the leak. Radu how is your car?

slodave 03-16-2007 06:36 PM

Hey Jim,

The leak might not be bad, but maybe you see a growing puddle under your car? Mine actually is a lot better these days. Just don't keep it in 1st thru Mulholland ;) Keep the RPM's from the 5,500 mark and you may be ok.

Now, I still have to deal with my loose intake manifold before Sunday.

Dave

lfot 03-16-2007 07:22 PM

joe payne - go to the first page of this thread and there is a map showing Ventura and Vineland in Studio City. The Starbucks/Ralphs parking lot.

jim - did you lose any oil on the way home from willow? i agree with dave, if you keep it under 5k or so, you'll probably be ok.

dave - loose intake manifold? when did that happen?
