Ok, the guys car is still fugly, but I guess he is trying to advertise...
http://misha911.com/

He is trying to sell rear spoilers for the late model 911.

Drew001 05-13-2007 08:04 PM

I saw the caravan roll by as I was making Mother's Day calls to my Mom and sister back East - nice group!

Looked like you picked up a light blue MG on the return trip.

Ahh, so you were the one at the side of the road - on the cell phone. Jeez, we passed you going west and you were on the phone. 40 minutes later we pass going the other way and you're still on the phone! :p

You should join us next time!

Dave

Drew001 05-13-2007 09:19 PM

Heh, hey I've only got one Mom and one sister and they get all the time they need (as much as I hate talking on the phone).

I kind of met you at the Thanksgiving Day run and I'll be there for Big Bear, but I'll join in one of these Sundays.

mkaraoglan 05-13-2007 09:29 PM

sorry i missed today but i was dealing with family stuff.
hope u all had a safe and fun day

slodave 05-13-2007 09:55 PM

I was hoping that I could get some shots of the crew arriving, but, even though I had a jump on the rest, I was slowed at the end by traffic. I was able to get the 928S and the Cayman.

May 27th is coming up at El Toro. :D

I may even have the 993 (same class as the Cayman) since the 911 is dead after Streets of Willow.

porcupine911 05-14-2007 01:11 PM

she says she chooses shoes.

Did you read the fine print? It's only good for a year.

On that note, Happy Belated Birthday Chris!

The '69 developed:
1. Severe gear whine in trans. I need to take it apart before it takes itself apart. I think it's got a little over 200K miles on it so its due.

2. The engine started smoking moderately under decel. Seems like valve guides but they should be okay. Maybe a guide seal let go or something? Not too worried about this.

I don't have enough rubber on the 993 for both of us(not even sure I want to run it), but you are definitely encouraged to come out and drive the 911. Should be back together for the June event.

Sorry for the thread drift...

David

porcupine911 05-14-2007 06:13 PM

did someone say drift? :D

You guys really need to branch out. I just got back from Decker Canyon which made Mulholland look like Ventura Blvd. There are alot of better roads up the coast of PCH that are pretty free of traffic. How about organizing a run thru one of the canyon roads and seafood at "Neptunes Net"on Sunday?

Yeah, honestly...Mullholands crap compared to Calabasas roads, Decker, Piuma, Little Tujunga is a God road compared to Mull, plus mullholland's pavement is about as smooth as howard stern's ass. Plus, the starbucks on Ventura and Vineland is way too crowded on sunday for a car show. Ive only been once to your run and I couldnt even park my car close to anyone.

lfot 05-15-2007 12:23 AM

Ok, seriously... it seems some people are missing the point about Mulholland.

We all do the canyons.
We go to the track.
We autocross.
This isn't the only road we run.
Car shows are for rich guys.

It's MY road and that's why I love it. I know every turn, every bump, every lump, every patch, every slo-mo ass in front of me, and where to pass... when to pass... when not to pass... when to go fast, when to chill, when to be on the look-out. I know by the people around me who is smart, who is fast, who is risky, who is too risky, who is along for the ride, and who I can trust. It's like clay. I can make it whatever I want.

And really, the people I've met doing this thing have become my friends. Sorry if I have taken comments too personally, but if you don't dig it, nobody is forcing you to do it.

p.s. thinkfloyd14, Sabbath ****** rules.:D

porcupine911 05-15-2007 07:14 AM

hear, hear!
bravo, derek.

The reason I commented was because I was trying to get you guys to come to my side of town and do a run with me so I dont have to go alone all the time. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it nice to run with a bunch of cars. Also I have been driving Mulholland for years as my brother lives on Woodrow Wilson. Its a great road but too much traffic for ME.

Sorry you missed my point.

porcupine911 05-15-2007 08:38 AM

i'll meet up with you. start another thread. :)

It was less you and more the other.;)

Jeremy Cottrell 05-15-2007 12:28 PM

Mulholland is best enjoyed very very late at night. During the day you cannot run it to it's "potential" The Sunday runs are a fun social time but there is too much traffic. Now, after one of Joe's Bro's parties.....................well maybe that is not such a hot idea either.

No sweat:D

Jeremy,
No kidding. I wont even drink one beer when I drive that car because its a ticket waiting to happen. No front plate, rollbar, loud pipe, and harness. I have been followed more that once by cops and it sucks!

Now the Honda is another story.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

I will let you know if something comes up. Front tires are rubbing or getting cut on the top of the strut. The cup that holds the strut. Dave from TRE said its common with raised spidles. Looks like im going to have to do some grinding. I noticed it the last run I did by myself up in Malibu.

slodave 05-19-2007 07:22 PM

What? Everybody have better things to do tomorrow?

The Chef 05-19-2007 07:53 PM

Fiance behind me as I type. I might sneak away on an erand if you guys are going. Shhh!

I'm laughing so hard that it's rediculous.
Sorry but you are out of it.
You obviously don't know anything about Mulholland and don't appreciate it and that's too bad.
Don't hack on Mulholland just because you were born too late you loser.
If you don't like the pavement, don't drive on it.
Mulholland dosn't want you there.

And try to spell Mulholland correctly, turkey.

Maybe I will, maybe I wont.:p

Way to go Chris! I will join in defending the turf.
I think I broke a rib laughing so hard.
Yup Floyd is at least 20 years too late and missed out on the festivities.
