I doubt that, wacky Paul Ehrlich still holds his tenured professorship at Stanford, without a scintilla of embarassment to be seen.

John, I wasn't sure about how much of your post was included with the ; however, you're aware that the duration of daylight each day only grows by ~2 minutes/day and has nothing to do with DST (clock changes), right?

Hotter weather means more days out with the 911, I'm failing to see a problem at all.

As I understand it, there are a number of theories regarding exactly what is happening and why. Again, I marvel at how you can talk so much and say so little.

Our understanding of weather and climate is still pretty rudimentary, even with all those smart scientists pondering it pretty intensely. A lot of the information points us in different directions, it is tough to say how one thing impacts a large and complex system, like global climate. A lot of the predictions made are WAG's at best(That is Wild Ass Guesses, for those of you who were surprised about Gore's "documentary" winning an Oscar). As someone said above, you really have to look at the big picture.

Just because it is nice and warm this winter in Nebraska or whatever, does not mean the world is getting warmer, and a cold winter in Mexico does not mean the whole world is cooling off.

Why does temp change have to be either cyclical or caused by man? Why couldn't it just be random?

Random cycles are the rule. See "Chaos Theory".

This film, Inconvenient Truth has nothing on the original Japanese Sci-Fi 56' "Warning from Space." It's nice to have this film in an original language English, because the Japanese translation gets lost a little.

I'm not sure replacing Keizo Kawasaki and Toyomi Karita helped Gore's film any. In the end it's just another rehash the 1956 film with Al Gore warning the people of earth instead of Star shaped aliens from outer-space.

Come to think of it, perhaps it's all pretty much the same as the original.

+1000. WHEN, not if, this happens, the explosion is expected to 2500x greater than that of Mt. St. Helens in 1980 and the ash cloud will cool the Earth by 20-30 degrees in a matter of weeks. Nothing we do to combat global warming over hundreds of years will have anything close to the effect that this caldera eruption will have in a few weeks. IIRC, it blows every 600k years and is 40k yrs. overdue now. It's just insane how arrogant humans are in thinking we can control this stuff and how important we are.
