New toy for the collection!
Well, it is official. I have a new toy to add to the collection, it needs to be re-assembled, but is a solid, rust free, complete car.
My new 1973 Fiat Spider: I'll post more pictures when it's done. -Nick

The dash, seats, doors were taken out as it had to sit outside for a month before it could be stored inside. That was one of the first questions I asked when I saw the picture. I get to pick it up later this week!

Nice!
In college, my friend had a Fiat Spider 2000. Whenever I wanted to go for a spirited ride, she would fling me the keys. Really fun car on small twisty roads... -Z

I think I am going to have to keep the original color, I might make a shade darker, but I'll see what it looks like after a wetsand and some polishing. I think it will look killer next to the spitfire in the showroom!

Ship that engine to our own YTNUKLR...the kid is GOOD, Tabby... With some time & patience you could be on the road again.

Rust free? Jeez, I thought every one of 'em arrived rusty from the salt air!
Enjoy -- and nice Spit! I had a 67, in black, that I loved (though I was told it looked more like I put the car on, than I got into it). Best, JP

Buy a new wiring harness and install. Lots of those burnt up for various reasons. They were fun cars. Spencer

When I was hot & horny to buy an MGB, I drove 3-4 different ones and REALLY liked them.
Then I got in a Fiat 124 spider, and never really felt the same about the Bs. The 124 is a much more modern car, and there seems to be A LOT more room for tweaks & enhancements. Congrats, I'd be interested to see pics during the restoration! I've heard they are nice to work on, which is a good thing, conidering their reputation! FWIW, I used to have a Fiat 850 sedan.

If you are not completely sure of when it was changed, then change out the belt that runs the cams. I had a 124 in College and loved the car, but went 1000 miles over the recommended interval and of course it failed, bending every frigging valve in the head.
Overhauled the head and kept the car but it was not fun. Nice car and keep the revs up and they run very well.

The PO started to do a frame off restoration, so the doors were already taken off. This car had to be moved outside while another car took its place inside, hence the seats, dash, etc were removed and stored inside so they weren't rained on or under direct sun light as there was no top on the vehicle.
