Car Tilter
I don't know. Something tells me this isn't as easy or safe as it seems. My kind of luck, the car would just continue tilting until it was on its roof.

Seems to me there would be an awful amount of stress, in all the wrong directions, on the suspension, wheel bearings, etc.

Used one for years, love the critter. Very easy to use and you can have the car mounted and on its side in less than 20 minutes.
Used on a friends pickup truck ![]() ![]() Used on my Jag ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Really makes working on the top or bottom of the car easy. No chance for the car to roll over, its balanced and held tight by the jackstands.

Yep, but no photos of it now. This was developed in Germany so any car made there has been up on a Tilter.
Goes up very easily.

We pull the battery out if its not sealed, take some saran-wrap and put it on the brake fluid cap, then depending on how far over and which side fuss with the oil or water. Funny thing is all the crap that comes out from behind or underneath seats and so on.

Jeff,
They used to have a office in the NE part of the U.S. but it may have closed now. Trust me, getting German TUV approval for something like this is not easy, and if it was not safe it would not be sold in Germany. Right now they are still selling the unit all over Europe. It's a great idea if it works - I'd have to see it for real though. If so, I'd seriously consider one - it's got to be more affordable than a lift!

Jeff,
Given the money and room I would take a lift any day but this puppy works great and is a good stop-gap until I hit the lotto. My friends are trying to borrow it all the time and its even had a big Ford F-250 pickup up on its side. If you ever get over to Phoenix let me know and will show it to you. Joe

Paid around $700 or so for mine off of Ebay. Not sure what they are going for new. They are used all over Europe, and that is where I saw it first.
Nice thing is that you can take it anywhere. Takes a two car garage to do inside but its not bolted to a floor so you just toss it in the back of a truck or station wagon and it goes where needed.

I wonder how far I could tilt a car before having to worry about the oil and coolant... would make changing CV joints and other stuff a snap!

One car started dripping oil from a dip-stick hole but then it was on the bottom "side" while tilted." We rotated the vehicle the other direction and solved that issue right away. Just depends and most are no hassle. It makes most work underneath or on top very easy. Exhaust is a breeze now that you are not underneath it, and welding on underbody or fussing with a roof is easy, where before it was a bear. Then when you are finished hang the puppy up on the wall or in the attic and its tucked away until needed again.
