Nifong can't get a taste of what the players went through. He is guilty and the players were innocent.

Nifong should be disbarred. Unfortunately, prosecutors have immunity from criminal prosecution. So despite the fact that he violated state law by withholding evidence from the defense, he will not be prosecuted.

Put simply, Nifong was obstructing justice by suppressing exculpatory evidence. I see little difference between falsely propping up someone's prosecution and lying to protect the guilty. Yet, Nifong has immunity as the D.A.? Talk about a warped playing field!

To make matters worse, Nifong undertook such actions for his own political and personal gain. He, and possibly the false accuser, are the only ones that should be in jail.

I think there is a federal law that says if you are charged and acquitted by the feds, the gov't. pays your legal bills, no? Do any states have such a law too?

Maybe the Duke kids can sue Al and Jesse for slander. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

I believe the players need to sue the accuser. It will give them a chance to put the facts on the public record and prevent her from harrassing them in the future. You may think she will leave them alone and disappear after all of this. But it has been my experience that low-lifes and bottom feeders can only be trusted to behave worse than you expect. Never assume she thinks and feels the way you do. At this point, nothing is stopping her from going on Oprah, selling a book or movie deal based on the original allegations, making up new allegations etc. etc. They need to protect themsleves legally and sue her early and often whenever she opens her mouth. Fortunately, if the facts are on their side (as it appears they are), then a satisfactory suit can probably be had for less than $50k total - which is, IMO, a pretty good deal.

al still hasn't paid his other lawsuits, and jj would just take it out of his rainbow group, like he does child support.

All this back and forth--who knows what to believe? I wish there was a true unbaised account that could tell my small mind what to think...

Aha! Found it: http://blackstarnews.com/?c=135&a=3207
