If you could only keep one, would you choose internet or TV?

I've never been a huge TV watcher. If our TV died I'd replace it eventually. If my cable modem went out, I'd be replacing it immediately. Where do you stand?

I'd keep the internet.
Because I can download any TV show I want to watch.

I really like some stuff from both, but at this point I'm more attached to the internet because it gives me more variety. Info, entertainment, communications, etc....

TV is primarily entertainment.

How about this, my T.V. died last August and I have been without T.V. since. I chose the Internet There are times where I'd like to loose myself in some dumb T.V. program, but I decide to do something else, like play the guitar. I do miss the ability to watch DVDs on my 5.1 system.

Lets just get to the point: TV doesn't have midget porn.

Within the next five to ten years they will be the same. Television, as it exists today will be as dead as a dinosaur. It has already begun.

Internet. TV only really gets used for F1, Battlestar Galactica, occasional movie viewing and sports events. IMHO it's a dying medium - it's been used up.

Voted for internet but could not live without Formula One, Discovery channel, CSI, Vegas, History channel and so on, all of which are not on the internet right now.

Joost.com should change this but its not there yet...

I lived in Costa Rica for two years before they got cable to my house. I still didn't hook up.
Now in Dana Point, I have a big TV and it is still junk. If we watch much it is a rental movie.

If I still have my internet at work I'll stick with my TV at home... you anti TVer's need to get a DVR and minimum cable/satellite, there is still good stuff on there but you have to wade through a mountain of dooky to get to it (network television).

PBS, Discovery, History, ESPN, IFC, documentary channel, etc.

Internet. Tv has become nothing but a sad bastion of moronic "reality shows. Although id be unhappy without, Discovery, Military Channel, and the Food network

Net. I'll never buy another TV. Just a bigger monitor.

tv is on 24 hrs a day. internet is on as long as I am home and awake. which at times, that's 24hrs a day for days also. I'd be lost without either one. living alone for most of the last 36 yrs, I have to have background noise of some kind. the damn cat won't talk to me unless she's needing food. Can't sleep without the TV on although I have to wake up 10 times a night to change channels from the infomercials that start about 2am. couple hundred channels and nothing on, but it's all I've got to break the silence. the internet gets old after a few days sitting here. can't think of anything to search for anymore unless I buy another car and need parts. and I've been buying too many lately

Ditto. A while back, I turned on my set and saw the cable was out. I called the company and scheduled a service call, then decided to watch the stuff I'd recorded but never gotten around to watching. I discovered that the cable had been out for over a MONTH - I hadn't noticed because I hadn't turned the set on in that time. I called the company back and canceled the service, then donated my TV and ancillaries to Goodwill.

In the space where the entertainment center was, I've now put a computer desk with a dock for my laptop, attached to 2.1 speakers, cordless keyboard/mouse, and widescreen LCD monitor.

Not enough live sports coverage on the internet yet. I'd keep the TV & do my internet stuff at work.
