Gore running for President?

One of my gun forums had links to someone stating Al Gore has cancelled his speaking engagements for the next 6 months, based on a run for President. The links lead to a Taipei Times article where Al Gore cancelled his speaking engagements there

Now we are getting somewhere on this character!

He humbly but definitely denied plans for running for President again in the Swedish television interview. Incidentally, so did Hillary.

I would much rather have Gore than Hillary or Obama.

Biden, Richardson, Gore....those are the guys I have the least worries about.

My objection about Obama is the unknown factor. What Political ties does he have to Mayor Daly, how much of his Socialist leanings will he give into if he becomes President. I know he is a bright guy, who knows that to get anywhere you have to compromise.

I saw a poll in the US News this week that showed Hillary as the ONLY candidate with a more negative than positive response from those polled. If she gets the nomination, it might help the Republican side.

He polled 50.1% in 2000. He lost the electoral college. He doesn't disgust Moderate Republicans. It would be quite funny to see him up against Thompson. If the GOP nominates anyone but Thompson, no doubt, Gore would win.

I keep pointiong out the Fred has some baggage as a result of his work as a lobbyist that some conservatives might find troubling. I would also agree that I would rather see him or Richardson run than Ms. Clinton.

Gore's political power has been written about for over a year. He has a machine all ready to start up.

guessing on a primary winner is always a long shot imo.

fwiw.. the Reps want Hillary to win the primaries.

Hell yes we want Hillary to win the primaries.

Gore is probably more left than Hillary, maybe not in philosophy but certainly in their convictions and actions.

Gore is a nutball, Hillary is evil.

That being said, if Gore enters the race Hillary will have him destroyed.

Hillary will not be the Dem candidate. Bookmark this page to pat me on the back later.

Not sure if I would want Al over Thompson now, I'd take Fred if he would secure the borders and deport people. I consider it the issue that trumps all others right now, though there are several other issues that are absolutely indispensable.

I definitely wanted him over Bush in 2000 and think that he most likely won the election. I said in '04 that Britney Spears and her baby-daddy would have been better than Bush, and they would have been. And no, I do not "hate Bush". In fact, I feel nothing but an empty sadness about his strange reign.

Cheney, now there's a maggot. But we're talking about Al Gore.

len.....I respectfully ask how do we today describe a Democrat or a Republican? How do the definitions compare with, say, 30 years ago? 60 years ago? I ask because I was a Goldwater Republican in my youth, and none of the current crop seem to carry that kind of Republican or conservative mantle.

My take is that party labels are virtually useless.

GORE?? Why would I ever vote for someone that can't get the support of their own state? Just think of the electric bill he could run up in the white house?

OK. I'll take that bet. I think she will be the Dem candidate.

You guys aren't qualified to vote anymore, sorry.

I mean you voted in neither a conservative nor a republican, twice. Can the country really afford to see what you'll do next?

Conservative Republican is becoming more and more of an oxymoron over the past 12 years.

I am actually a former conservative because I've seen nothing in decades from democrats or republicans worth conserving.

I consider Thompson's work as a lobbyist to be a positive.

I would love to see the bloodbath between her thighness and Gore if he gets in. She will indeed have him destroyed.
