I watched a guy from the ASPCA last night explain how big dog fighting has become. Here is a shocker for you....it has ties to rap music and drugs!

Of course we won't to suggest that a black men in thier 20's are responsible for this because that would be a racist statement.

widgeon13 07-19-2007 07:23 AM

Where are Jesse and Al when they are really needed, guess they spent all their energy on Don Imus and the Rutger's hoe's. Tell me they aren't racists!

Craig 930 RS 07-19-2007 07:25 AM

Vick's career is over.

I say part of his sentence is to go a round of Ultimate Fighting, get the sheet beat outta him, see how it feels.

Mule 07-19-2007 08:05 AM

Right on widgeon. Jesse & Al flip over a slang comment 1000 times milder than those common in rap music. Where is the outrage when a hero of the black community commits such disgusting crimes? Here are a couple of web sites to illustrate just how evil human beings can be.

The Pit Bull Problem

K9 Cartel

This web site has changed since yesterday, now sporting a disclaimer about not being involved in illegal activities and removal of a several paragraph long threat to exact vengeance on some other breeders. The News page now sports a poster for a great looking get together where yesterday they where instructing folks to "knuckle up" 'cause when they find 'em, "they weren't gonna do no talking"

Mule 07-19-2007 08:57 AM

Good point Sonic. I can see it now. Vick takes a hit off his "water bottle" as the ghost of Johnny Cochran rhymes, "if the dog got whipped, you must acquit."

On ramp, you prove the wisdom in an old country saying. "Smart is superficial but stupid runs deep.
For you to compare the intentionally cruel. tortuous and horrendous killing of what could have been a loyal, loving family pet (like mine in the avatar) to the slaughter of a chicken or cow for food ranks as the most ignorant, closed minded display of lunacy I can remember. Don't you know that broccoli screams when it's "slaughtered."

When has a cow or chicken ever defended a child?

If he gets the death penalty I'm a volunteer. Skull ventilation would be too good. I'm thinking T ball bat and a slow relaxed approach.

Dog fighters are less than dog *****.

hey , thank you for your unsolicated Spam PM. I placed it promptly in the trash bin.

So a dog defends a child, a cow or chicken can not therefore they must be killed for food. very good reasoning.

Hoot! Man, he'd scramble in earnest, wouldn't he? :D

Hmmm, Atlanta just hired Joey Harrington, former Duck, then Lions, then Dolphins, as a back up. Could Joey be the starter this year? It would be nice to see him find a home.

Vick? Like I said, IF the allegations are true? Yep...less than dog caca.

Mule 07-19-2007 09:15 AM

No problem on ramp. But your comparison of me to this and any other similar POS dog fighter by virtue of my diet leaves me looking for a way to rub your face in it.

Coach killer, dog torturer, spreader of venereal disease, who wants to "be like Mike?"

Chocaholic 07-19-2007 09:33 AM

When Cheetah's stop eating Zebras, and big fish stop eating little fish, I'll know that mother nature has spoken, and will then give up eating meat. In any case, it has less than nothing to do with the topic of dog fighting and mindless animal torture.

That may be true of those who TOLD YOU they were vegans. I'm sure you've met plenty who didn't find it necessary to proclaim the fact.

I don't know if your statements were directed solely at vegan or included vegetarians too.

FWIW, my wife and I met 10+ yrs ago when we worked together at a deli. She was a vegan at the time but worked with meat everyday without complaint. She remained a vegan for 2+ years, but found it too difficult to maintain a healthy diet. (Much of that was because of local selection). She's now just a run of the mill vegetarian. She has no problem picking up steak & hamburger for me when she gets the groceries. She also has more respect for people who hunt for meat than those who get squeamish at the sight of a vein in their steak.

But overall I agree with you.. anytime someone insists on letting me know that they are a vegan usually ends up being a bit obnoxious. But that's true with many things...anyone who feels they need to announce their political, cultural, class or dietary affiliations usually ends up being annoying.

The best possible outcome for this event is more attention will be given to the cruelty of dog fighting. Makes my stomach turn...

Craig 930 RS 07-19-2007 09:57 AM

Jake - Bingo. Good stuff -

+1

Neglect is hard to prove and difficult to prosecute. Cruelty like this is just sickening though. Hopefully he gets the book thrown at him.

It baffles me that people can be so cruel... it really makes you wonder what could possibly be wrong with them.

Our dog is a hunting dog who was found wandering around in January with metal wire embedded in his neck. They think he had been tied to a tree at the end of rabbit season and left to die slowly. Unfortunately common in Newfoundland.

Good point. Those that don't feel necessary to proclaim their "superiority" as vegans are perfectly fine. It just seems that many vegans think they can convince the other 99.9% of society that nature is wrong. Just shut your mouth and eat your salad.

Red Baron 07-19-2007 10:12 AM

Man did not rise to the top of the food chain to eat salad...

Overpaid Slacker 07-19-2007 10:34 AM

Vegans are like pilots -- how do you know there's one in the room? Wait five minutes... they'll tell you. :D

I guess it's hard not to feel superior when you look at most people as the equivalent of a POS dog fighter like Vick, as on ramp has pointed out he does.

And then has the nerve to call meat eaters hypocrits. If you look up the term "self righteous" you'd find his picture next to a bunch of TV evangelists.

Wait till the brocolli protection league gets a hold of his ass.
