Has the media jumped on Michael Vick too Soon?

I understand that there is some evidence on him, but are there any truly specific, beyond reasonable doubt things (that have been released to the public)?

It seems like when there is a crime that is a heinous one (murder, rape, etc), and there is a suspect who is fun to hate (sports star, celebrity, rich kids) the media more or less presents the suspect as guilty.

I for one will not be taken in without seeing some serious evidence. Do people remember Richard Jewell?

How about the Duke rape fiasco?

I want to see the evidence and make up my own mind on his guilt.

If he is truly responsible for dogs being hung, electrocuted, slammed to the ground, etc. then I am find with him being put on the "rape stand" in a pit of Gorillas.

I think his previous behavior on and off the field pretty much says Vick is a thug and lives the lifestyle of those that would be into dog fighting. Maybe dog pens on his property would lead you to thing he just may have something to do with this crime. I'm sure there must be some video out there somewhere of Vick at a dog fight.

I don't recall that R. Jewell or the Duke team had any prior behaivor that would tie them to what they were accused of.

After the things that they found at his house, his days are overwith.

No one like someone who abuses animals and if he is lucky he will die in a car accident soon, very soon.

People in prisons like their pets and he would be theirs, in the worst way...

Mike Vick would get nothing but 'mad props and respect' in prison. Don't fool yourself.

For a certain culture, dog fighting is as normal as raping white women.

(damn, did i just say that out loud? LOL)

Nope, he is morally challenged even though he was put on a pedestal.
He deserves to be knocked down to earth and needs to learn a lesson, how to be a real human being.

Not that I want to get off topic from the title.. but

I just cannot believe for a minute that if found guilty of the charges against him, he won't get the full force of punishment. There's no 'gray area', like the whole Kobe thing. So what if thugs think he's great- the judge and jury won't possibly like him more than an innocent dog.

I think that in this case, his prominence and money will bury him.

ramm - I understand where you're coming from, but you're never going to "...see the evidence..." that's why he plead guilty. He HAD to avoid the hit that would come from first person testimony in open court, "Yes, I saw Michael...."

The revulsion that would follow that and the sentence that would undoubtedly have come after would have CERTAINLY spelled his permanent doom. He needed to get the facts of the case in the rearview mirror as quickly as possible and sound as humble and contrite as he could possibly manage as quickly as possible. As it is, this is probably only a temporary doom with at least SOME possibility he'll get another chance in the NFL, the CFL or in Europe.

Conviction or not; merited or not (I think it is) I think the guy is toast.

He only said "Man, no comment" because he'd never heard the word "exonerated" before.
