Well, All of your posts have been well received, and I suppose I was looking for a simple solution to a complex question.... I really do not feel that I would be in "Flow" running the business that this concept would create (I would not find any satisfaction running Microsoft or Ebay even with the large sums of money that they generate) and I feel that it would be better suited to someone that would be able to find personal satisfaction in running an internet based business. I guess what I am saying is that I would rather hand the ball off to a teammate and let him run in for the touchdown than to actually do it myself.... Realistically though the amount of money that this idea would generate will probably find me working this out on my own because I doubt I will allow this one to go on the back burners as most of our "Ideas" tend to be shuffled. I have seen several folks start websites and then sell them off, and this is probably what I will have to do with this one. I would much rather be working on something else, something a little more suited to my peronality..... Anyway thanks for the replies, and if and when I get it off the ground I will repost...

So, you have an idea, but you don't want to be involved in the running of the business or the implementation of the idea, and you lack the technical skill and the capital to get the idea off of the ground? There's a guy at the end of the bar I want you to meet.
Just kidding. However, I think that when you do "visualize" the concept for your prospective partners, make sure you find a way to make YOU an important part of the concept, and that will help insure your success. Just being the guy with the idea is not enough, IMO.

Here is another Edison quote the seems to apply: "The reason a lot of people do not recognize opportunity is because it usually goes around wearing overalls looking like hard work." Futures, if your plan is to hand off he idea for someone else to make happen, this is one idea that will never happen.

Sorry to be harsh, but if your idea doesn't drive/inspire you to run with it, wth would anyone else want to push it along?

I don't think running Mircosoft, Google or Ebay would be something that I could do.... I can't explain why, I just think it is better suited for someone that has that type of mentality. I have no doubt that if I truly focused on the idea, that I could see it to a sucessfull conclusion.... I would just rather see the idea be implemented by someone who "COULD" put their heart into it and not just their mind as I could only be able to do. I know that if I did get this thing off the ground it would be one of those internet startups that would be sold off very quickly because my "heart" is just not into the technology thing. I don't think that my personal feeling about not wanting to run this project deminsihes its value in any way. I think just the opposite on this. Why would I want to do anything that makes me unhappy, no matter how much money that I make doing it or how brilliant of an idea that it is. Thus I posted this message to get ideas on how I would possibly go about selling this idea to industry....... sorry if you think I am a moron.....

IMHO, there are many ways to sell it.
If you just want to sell the concept, put together a simplified explanation with some powerpoint or similar slides, do some general figures or projected P&L's and try to figure out how to approach some of the big players like Google. Oh yeah, figure out how much you want for it. Before you do all that, do some research to make sure its not out there already.
