I've test driven a couple of Boxsters. I love the concept: Porsche mid-engine roadster. They're fun to drive, and seem pretty well balanced. Top-down has never been my thing, though.

Now, if they made a mid-engine coupe, in a club-sport version, ooh, baby, that would be the car.

It's a proper sports car.
I'd be interested in the ages of people who disapprove of the Boxster, 928, and newer 911's. I would guess that they are older - but I don't know...

I'm about 6'3" and 210lbs and I simply don't fit comfortably in a Boxster (or a Cayman). Even with the seat all the way back, I don't seem to have a comfortable way to position my right leg. I don't think I could ever own one of these for this reason.

A friend here at work just had his '01 Boxster S engine blow for no reason (on the street). About $15k later, he's got his car back. Yikes!!!

Very recently drove one for the first time, 2000 non-"S" w/ 5-speed, bone stock. Just a wonderful little instrument, 100% in the tradition of what a Porsche is supposed to be. Fantastic car, absolute joy to drive, but a bit of a "momentum car" compared to my 996. Nothing wrong with that, though.

I test drove one. I'm 6'1" and 240 lbs. and I fit much better than my 951 (which I don't get into to--I wear it).

I loved it. The chassis is twice as stiff as my 951. The engine is smooth and linear. I covet one.

Where's the "Never driven, but like"? It's a sportscar that handles well, what's not to love? Sure, the purists don't like them, but what do the purists like these days? Lets face facts, if those guys were running Porsche, they would have never ended 993 production, and the company would probably have gone under by now.

With that said, I would never drive on. The convertible thing never did it for me. The Cayman though, I could handle that.

I totally agree with Denis. They drive differently than a 911, but different doesn't mean bad. I like them, esp the 2005-up 'S' models. I drove a 2007 'S' and I think I'd chose it over a 997.

I like 'em. I actually went to buy one but they'd sold it that afternoon and I ended up with my SLK. Not disappointed - I guess it wasn't meant to be. There will be on in the future for me.

I guess I'll have to wait until Wayne finishes his "101 Boxster/Cayman Projects", but I can foresee one (or the other) in my garage, once I'm comfortable that I can do most of the work on it.

Not seeing the engine would bug me. My 951 sucked to work on, but I think it would be a dream compared to a Boxster.

I owned one for a little over a year. I love the styling, though they're so common they don't turn my head any more. Ok, I love the styling except the 996 front end - I hate those fried egg headlights.

I think they're good, capable cars, fun and very comfortable, though the lack of storage space/back seat is a deal-breaker for me.

Personally, I can't wait until the early Ss hit rock bottom in price so I can buy one and strip it for use at the track. I think once the price drops out of these we'll see a new kind of track car become popular - the new 944 maybe?

i have an 02...i like it, but what do I know i had a 914. it's ike a 914-6 with real working air and heat, i love it, much better than any 944 i had

I have driven a few boxsters and really liked how easy they were to drive. They are just so much more smooth/refined then 911s.
