Anyone fluent in Dutch?

I have a 336 year old document from my direct ancestor - it details his family history. The document is in Dutch. It was translated in 1890 but there may be errors in the translation. I have the files scanned and could send a link. Is anyone fluent in Dutch or know of someone I could hire to translate it?

He arrived here (in what would be the U.S.) in 1653 and had quite a life. I would love to be able to see a good translation.

Thanks for any info.

Mitch

Thanks for the replies, guys - I appreciate it.

Dutchie - I'll send you a PM.

Given the age, it appears as though the document is quite legible. It is, of course, handwritten so that may create a bit of a challenge...

don't trust Dutchies for dutch language
get a Flemish Belgian instead, we have more win's in the language contests between Holland and Belgium

no, real Belgians are multilingual
Dutch/Flemish , French , usually English too

then there is ordering beer, which is taught in kindergarten, no languagebarrier is to great for that one... except maybe Farsi , but they don't have beer over there anyways so not an issue

I'm afraid that I'm asking quite a lot - the scans are large and reasonably clear but the handwriting is probably going to be tough.

So... the more the merrier! Stijn - PM on the way.

Thanks for the replies.

i had a go at it, but i can't make much of it, just the odd word, and names
no complete sentences, the handwriting is to difficult, and like you say, Old Dutch (and from what Trap told me, a German immigrant which might affect things even more)...

impossible for me as i can't make enough from the context to fill in the blanks... just to much blanks for me... maybe you're better at it
