Lefties take aim at Cigars

Those fine folks in congress who know so much better what to do with our money than we do, have decided that cigars are apparently an evil that needs to be stamped out. A proposal in the senate intends to raise the maximum tax on a cigar by 20,413% or $10 a stick. It's a shame we cant tax bull***** in DC.

If you have an interest in this please call your senators.

At this point, I really just want to laugh. All that is going on in this world, and they are discussing the tax on cigars?! Are you ****** kidding me? PLEASE, could we just fire them ALL?

As ive said before, if you have lawmakers, they're going to busy themselves with making laws.

I say this country has enough laws now- all lawmakers should be dismissed for 335 days of the year, and only be allowed to debate and legislate for one 30 day period per annum.

These people are our single greatest threat to freedom....even moreso than Bush the Lesser, Hitlery, or any other Executive.

I think there needs to be a Const. amendment that says Congress has to repeal three old laws before they can pass a new one. That should get us back to sanity and keep them busy for a good 20 yrs.

And some people don't believe the "slippery slope" argument.

Once the precedent is set for regulating or taxing something, the next step is to regulate or tax all of the things like it. Then, some creative logic is used to regulate/tax something else.

Today it is cigars. One day it will be cheese burgers, fries and more than 15 lb per Bhp. I dont trust the aging Boomers. They vote, there are many of them and 1968 is getting further and further away....

C'mon, guys. It's not a left vs. right issue. That's no more than a smokescreen (pardon the pun) that you have all swallowed. It's us vs. "them", with the "them" being our lawmakers. There is no greater peril to your continuing freedoms than their continuing meeting. They have been at it too long. There are too many laws. This should not be a full-time job for them.

The sooner we all realize this, the better off we will be. "They" are not your friend, regardless of party.
