Don't like rude?
You would hate Vancouver.
Might have something to do with 83% of household income going towards housing.

Henley sang a few years ago that this a "graceless age", and he was right. Don't know where it goes from here with so many thoughtless people. Can't be good.

It all starts with parenting; teach your children well. I also think some people need to have their clock cleaned every now and then to smarten em up. Remember the good old days when things could be settled with your fists, you lost you learned your lesson, they lost they learned their's and you could even be friends after. Now either someone pulls an gun or knife or it's illegal....

Like I said some people need a good ass kicking; smack the rude right off them.

When appropriate - I have no problem asking:

"What's the magic word?"

After all......it really is......MAGIC!

My parents were very strict about manners & it has served me well. It takes a lot of patience to pass it on to my kids without using the back of my hand, especially at the dinner table. Sometimes I have to excuse myself so I don't erupt & ruin everyones dinner. The irritation is my problem, but I get my point across without resorting to the same measures my dad did.

Very little the public does anymore surprises me. If I extend a courtesy & am not acknowledged the most I'll do is say "your welcome". I always keep in mind that there are a lot of unstable folks with nothing to lose looking for an excuse to unload.

I take rudeness at work personally. I realize people have bad days, but if there's a pattern, I'll ask why, I'm not bashful. Nice play Moses, I doubt I would have been that quick.

When people are standing in my way (say in front of a door I need to enter) I used to say 'excuse me'. Since they are the idiots, I now say 'do you mind?' in an insulting way.

What's worse than that is if you hear him say "Nice watch".

I'm always annoyed by people that talk on their phone in the bathroom. I'm yet to see a splashdown, but I know it's gotta happen.

Not just tailgating - that's obvious, but when I give someone a free pass, a go-ahead, I always look for some sort of acknowledgment or a "thank you" wave. I get nothing. It's our narcissistic (me first) society. Sad.
I had to laugh at this comment...you posted about how you always want acknowledgement, and you get nothing

narcissistic indeed!
