I think it's more than that. There's a certain type of sadness that is had when you achieve and reach a goal. It's the "okay, what's next?" type of thought. Getting and reaching the summit was / is more fun than being on top. I think that money solves a lot of day-to-day problems for people struggling to survive. My advice Wayne is to stay with the Porsche Parts. People think IF ONLY I HAD ...fame and fortune I would be happy. When they get there they find that they are not magically transformed into being happy but still have to face themselves in the mirror. Also with fame and fortune comes a whole new set of problems, that of being inside the pressure cooker of fame and fortune. Many people are not equiped to handle the additional pressures.

Who knows...the only thing Ive ever seen in him where he wasnt playing
a goof or a slacker type was "Behind Enemy Lines" where he was this
slacker-type pilot that gets downed in the former Yugoslavia and has to
escape on foot to avoid being captured by the Serbs. Kind of an interesting
movie, but somewhat unrealistic and innacurate from a political point of view.

Owen was in danger of, or more likely in the middle of being typecast as
the cute, funny, shaggy blonde guy... fortunately for him there are a ton
of silly comedies being made these days, so he wouldnt be out of work
any time soon.

I'll agree that rich people are "...all f-ed up".... as long as I get to add that poor and average income people are "all f-ed up" too.

Seriously, having money doesn't make you a different person than you were without money. It doesn't make you more able to deal with life's difficulties or stresses any better either. If you're the kind of person that would consider suicide when you're poor then you're the kind of personthat would consider it rich.

As for Owen Wilson, I know NOTHING about the man. I hope it wasn't from loss of a woman (Kate Hudson) that he did this. If so, he's got a LOT of growing up to do for a 38 year old man. Still, I am sorry he felt the need to go there. Other than that, and since none of us knows him, why do we care about him specifically? Probably LOTS of others tried it this week.

According to the news, it seems Owen suffers from Clinical Depression. If that is the case, then it doesn't matter how much money, success, pussy, or fame he has. The disease destroys people's internal emotional state regardless of their external circumstances - and sometimes all the therapy and medications in the world can't stop it. I hope, for his sake, that it isn't Clinical Depression because I wouldn't wish it on anyone...not even Osama.

My first wife (deceased from a cerebral Hemorrhage) suffered from bipolar disease. Do NOT make fun of mental disease if you have had no experience with it. Her "downs" were self destructive. She scared the crap out of the kids at an impressive age by threatening to kill herself. THey are adults now and still have some really bad memories.

BTW...a good definition: Suicide is a short-term solution to a long-term problem.
