Most places offer lifetime replacement now. As long as you save your receipts, you shouldn't have to worry about fading or anything like that. Of course 99% of people lose their receipts, which is what the shops want. . .
3M is excellent stuff. SolarGuard is pretty good too.

Years ago, I bought a Taurus SHO, what a screamer that car was, and I negotiated a heavy tint out of the sale, and the salesman said "So you want to go with the child molester package". Joeaska, 30 degrees on the inside temps I may consider a tint on the Targa.

One issue is my back glass is defrostable but I guess I could just remove it if the tint went bad.

Do a search for "Huper Optik". It's the stuff that the BMW & Porsche dealerships put on new cars here in AZ. It blocks much more rays/heat while offering a much lighter tint-shade (better visibility).

I hate the tint on my car. Part of the problem is simply aesthetics for me, and that is a personal matter, but I really do find it makes visibility worst, especially through the rear window. The tint done to my car is old, so its scratched up on the side windows.
