Irving: Free bus rides!

My little town has stepped up to the plate. Not sure if this has made the national news or not, but Irving is loading the buses headed to Mexico. The round up is on, and the police are out in full force.

Apparently the cops are profiling, detaining, and arresting a bunch of hispanics. Then, when they get them to down to the hoopscal and an ID can't be made, they call ICE, and they take it from there. Our numbers show that we deport about 4 illegals a day, but that is sure to rise. I hear they got about 30 last weekend near the home depot. I haven't seen the yard guys come around this week either.

Gasp, you mean they enforce the laws already in place in this country?! Glad somebody does.

If we simply enforced the laws we have, there would be no need for fences, new legislation, etc.

My number was low. The mayor estimates that we deport about 300 a month. The pissed off people are planning to cancel cinco de mayo in our city.

Get the PC "no profiling" crap out of law enforcement and watch the effectiveness skyrocket. That's across-the-board. Want to dress/talk/act like a "gangsta"? Fine. Get treated like it. Fine by me. Want to target bad neighborhoods that just happen to be minority? Fine. Want to have a chat with a bunch of sideways-hat and baggy-pants wearing jackholes hanging out on a street corner? Fine by me. If someone wants to look/act like they're up to no good, they can get treated like it.

Want to start pulling over cars because the drivers fit a certain racial profile? I'd even be okay with that - under certain circumstances and to help attack a certain specific problem (like illegal immigration or associated ID fraud/theft), or in response to a suspect description. These "it's rascism" jackasses don't realize that having extra patrols/police presence in those areas will HELP them (the honest ones) by helping to rid their neighborhoods of the ne'er-do-wells and bringing them up. But instead these idiots claim its an assault on their race, instead of the criminal elements within it.

I wouldn't mind being stopped and asked for ID once in a while if it meant that some of the illegals leeching off my hard work got stopped likewise and booted. It'd be worth it. A nation without borders is not a nation and I'm sick of seeing southern California turned into a third-world ghetto.

I have been stopped for being white in a black neighborhood. Doing a house call and they thought I was shopping for drugs. It only bothered me because he could actually have been enforcing a law that was being broken.

Good job in Irving, does not surprise me a bit.

I don't think they are having to profile, the illegals just fuch up. The bust last week was a call for a noise disturbance at an apartment complex. I guess one of the tenants got tired of the partying that goes on non stop. They caught a bunch of amigos for public intoxication, then when they didn't produce proper ID during booking, the federal authorities were called to the jail. Makes sense to me, send them to the feds jail.

Lord only knows how many times they were called to the parties when I was in high school (same town). I think I got 3 minor in possessions before I was 18, in this town. Granted that is not a jailable offense, but screwing up and getting caught is nothing new here.

I hear that the hispanics in this town (we have a bunch) are pissed because they see it as profiling. Well fuch me, they stopped my white arse awhile back, and I wasn't doing anything wrong. Cop had bad eye sight and mistook a 9 for a 3 on my sticker. I was happy to produce ID, and proof of insurance, I actually had it ready by the time he got to my window.

If they don't like what's going on in this city, move. A lot of them are too, because things aren't going to change. If anything, this city will start going door to door asking for papers.

If your record is clean, you take a two day safety course, et voila. Concealed carry permit. No state income taxes, reasonable smog laws(more concerned with safety than revenue)OVerall very pro business atmosphere

closest decent beach to Irving is on a lake, and it ain't that close

If they are doing something illegal for which they were stopped or the cops were called, I'm sure they will and they should be. I don't think there's much of a rush of folks from rich western European countries to illigally immigrate here.

You have to put it in perspective. Most of the mayors, town councilmembers, etc. are Hispanic down here (West Texas & NM, etc.).

Meanwhile here in Florida we have another Elian Gonzolaz on our hands, kid made it here and parent did not, now relatives are holding the kid and will not let them deport him.

Yet, tens of thousands of Mexicans are running around illegal and nothing is being done.

Nah...it isn't like that. Not trying to correct you, but...kid/mother made it to the US legally... (U.S. has a wet foot/dry foot policy with Cubans. We have no such policy with Mexico). Mother was deemed unfit by Child Protective Services due to drug use. Kid was pulled from mom's custody and put up for adoption. Adopted by a nice upper-middle class family.

Now, the father (in Cuba), decides he wants kid back. He is granted a visa to the U.S. to testify in court. After two weeks of testimony, judge deems him a fit parent. Next hearing is whether or not the adopted parents have to give the kid up. If the court gives the kid to the father, he will return to Cuba with child.

That's it in a nutshell.
