I have a confession...I used to believe in Santa Claus.

Like I said...I resigned. Also, like I said, there are many nice guys in the gruppe. There are some who aren't. It was kind of funny...I just took a look around, decided I didn't want to hang with the ones who weren't nice guys. Knowing they would always be part of the scene, I decided to leave the scene. I participated in some events...I'll just leave it at that. |
"California only group" - they aren't -- there is a lot of mis-information around, including the claim that everything is on Early 911S bbs, tho a lot is.
There are chapters in Portland & Seattle areas. Not sure about Memphis. if you are talking to Chris, ask if anyone in or near Memphis belongs. Go ahead and hook up with any driving group in your area, even if they are in 550s or 908s... It is limited to the early cars, that have been modified in a certain hot rod way. I think There are a couple of bumper cars in, but they are not your normal bumper car by any means. |
sounds like a bunch of arrogant jackass' that the pca wasn't good enough for....and the pca is generally a bunch of arrogant jackass'

Jeez, this is like rush week on sorority row.
I guess Groucho Marx was right. |
One great thing about being an R Gruppe member is that you get a great discount on Duct Tape. It really is quiet a sight to see a line of R Gruppe cars with hydralics go bouncing by....and they plan their runs based upon where the Starbucks are located. So if you wana be a Hard Drivin Porsche man that has to been in by 8 PM or the old lady will get on your case the R Gruppe is FOR U.
PWD really quit the R Gruppe because he found out that he couldn't bring his machine gun along with him to the meetings |

RGruppe Bubbas, I would recommend never posting counter posits in these threads, it gives life. But, who the F am I? While I own the best looking, least loved post 1973 Porsche concoction, son of a bastard spawn, adulterated roof line mutation, I remain alone and unafraid. SGruppe: Our S doesn't stink.;) |
I'm still looking for Gruppe W.

I kinda wish Cris would go back and read the article in EXCELLENCE that started it all...a pretty cool article featuring his car, his brothers cars, his friends cars. The theme being that blue collar working stiffs could still have the 911 experience. But then, I guess, money and arrogance always takes over...when something becomes suddenly "in". |
Paul, us "working stiffs" that spend our time getting greasy and banging up our knuckles on these old cars (when we aren't driving them) are still the heart and soul of it all. Yes, there are some guys with some serious money tied up in some beautiful cars, but that is hardly the norm. They are all great guys with something to add to the club; their machinery is an inspiration to many of us. Not everyone has to bomb around in an old beater like me, or turn their own wrenches to do so. It really is a good cross-section of means and mechanical know-how, all tied together by a love of these cars. So, while I do see the "money" here with some guys (just like in any car or bike club), I certainly don't see the "arrogance". In all of my years of running with all kinds of different car and bike clubs, I've never actually met a more down-to-earth bunch.

Heh heh. .Jeff, you so silly. :D
|
Oh boy.. I always enjoy a good Rgruppe thread... I think it REALLY is nothing but an "Ole boys club" They either have to like YOU or your CAR. You simply don't ask to join the group.
I say go build a ***** hot 911.. and when they ask you to join .. say no thanks! ;) hahaha! |
Damn I wish I could find that BAW thread....anyone else searched for it?
