Festivus for the rest of us? The law steps in

I must live in the weirdest state in the nation. There's always some bizarre thing on the local news. Right now in Green Bay (Go Pack!) the city hall is wringing it's collective hands over the future of their nativity scene. Displayed along with the baby Jesus is a Wiccan pentagram, no doubt the end result of local whiners wanting fair time for all faiths. Apparently, the pentagram was not enough to stir controversy. What was? A Festivus pole. Lol - no doubt a response from someone who had enough of Wiccan type whiners.

This just in! The mayor strapped on a HUGE set and proclaimed it all must go, except for the nativity scene. I pity him for the fallout he'll receive, but he gets my Wednesday morning "tip of the hat" !

All of this is silly BS. I'm actually surprised that a pol made any kind of hard decision, though IMO, the nativity scene should've gone, too. What the heck does a nativity scene have to do with the biz at city hall? Aren't there plenty of chuches in Green Bay to display that? I once heard that there are almost as many churches as taverns up there in the frozen tundra.

Nativity scenes are fine as long as they show baby Jesus as being black the way he really was.

The last two posts indicate why we have these problems. People who don't share the faith of the rest have the need to try and interfere with it. It's not enough that they have the constitutioinal right to practice whatever they want, they have to take it a step further and try to infringe on the right of others. This country was founded by Christian pilgrims. Not athiests, not muslims.

BTW, Jesus was not black. I don't know why you made that up or what your motivation is to say things like that.
Jesus was the descendent of Abraham, Judah and David on both His father's line and his mother's line. (Luke 3:23-38)
His ancestory is well documented.

Uh....WHAT ? Got proof? I'm not saying he was or wasn't, but proof is needed on this claim.

The interference is with those that would push religion into everyone's faces in every venue. You have a bazillion churches and you have your front lawns. Why do you need government offices for this, too?

How do you know this? What proof (not bible quotes) do you have that Jesus even existed?

Once again, what proof do you have outside of a book compiled after his (alleged) life by a conference led by a pagan leader.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it's a pentacle not a pentagram

Oh. And we don't whine about religion. We've an "each to his own" mentality about it.

Merry Christmas

Pentacle rhymes with testicle. Just thought I'd point that out.

Oh for crying out loud man. . .

Have you no sense of humor?

And if you want to split hairs, the country was not founded by Christian pilgrims. It was FOUNDED by deists. The Christian Pilgrims were little more than invaders. They didn't "found" anything other than a settlement - certainly not a country or government.

(and yes, that's a tad tongue-in-cheek too).
