Over? Wayne, we've still got New Years! Oh, you mean the buying frenzy stuff, yeah your correct. I had to jump out of the way of two SUVs last week in mall parking lots to avoid women driving and talking on their cell phones. Both of them looked at me with a "Hey, can't you see that I'm driving here and talking on my cell phone" Kind of look.

Wayne, it is all a matter of choice. People have the ability to choose how they feel. That is one of the most important aspects that separates us from the animals. Despite the miserable person talking smack, the BBS is an important part of many of our lives. We support both the Pelican business and community of Porsche enthusiasts.

Buying a fake Christmas tree tremendously lifted my mood during the holidays.

Sounds like the festivus "airing of grievances" is alive and well!

Sorry you're encountering such miserable people. I guess the stress and everything rubs off worse on some people than others. I suppose the best thing to do is to try and handle it with more dignity and grace than they, knowing in your heart you're the bigger man for so doing. I firmly believe that such things (good or bad) come back to us. "Karma" if you will.

Have a good new year and don't let the ba$tards grind you down!

Ah, Christmas Day, the day when everybody acts like they should act the other 364 days of the year.

Peace on earth, we can't even make it through one day!

Christmas is a period of extremes. Both joy and misery. People in a bad state will feel even worse. Lonely people will feel even more lonesome and trouble makers will be even more on the edge.

I''ve found that the holidays are a time to be endured, not enjoyed. Why? Because people are in such bad moods. Ever try to park in a crowded shopping center anytime between Dec 15th and Jan 5th? Yikes! Brutal. I work very hard at not letting it affect me. I know it's coming and I prepare mentally for it. I can feel the weight lifting already though.

Sorry you're having a bad run Wayne. Come to expect poor behavior from your fellow man and be happily surprised every time they demonstrate otherwise.

Well Wayne, even if I were to hold em, I doubt you'd hit em.

Even so, it is worth noting that not everybody's holiday reflects domestic bliss.

My personal theory is that some people enjoy being jerks from behind a keyboard and that these same people would NEVER have the ballz to speak as they do in person. Over the last couple years the tone on Pelican has gone more negative. There are a lot of new people in the hobby and they don't give a s&*t that this is a small and special community of car people. I've met so many people in the years I've been in the hobby (I got my first parts from Pelican way back in the day) who I now call friend that I treasure and appreciate how important it is to treat everyone 'right' b/c how you help and treat a fellow P-car guy will contribute to your reputation, etc.

So in general, I just ignore these rude folks and try and deal with the nice ones. I can't even imagine how tough it is to be a vendor in this community because there are some VERY picky people who are also pretty tight ;-)

thanks Wayne for giving us this great resource.

Ya know I have always considered myself more of a Bevis than a Butthead...

But I digress.

Even though I sold my Porsche awhile ago, I still miss it. It was such a raw car in sound and fury. But I've moved on. I'll get another one some day because you can take me out of a porsche, but you cant take the porsche out of me. Its something that has so much history behind it. Anyway, this time of year, I'm a pushover for letting people have their way. Life's too short to fuss and moan about a gift, parking, food, etc., that I just let the water fall off my back. Anyway, all of you have a great new year.
